Why can't I stop testing?!

Oh I know this sounds so silly.. The tests I've done ( a fair few ) are saying pregnant.. and I should believe them! I'm 6 weeks (by calculation) but I just don't FEEL pregnant.. I had a few symptoms at the beginning when I first found out.. but they seem to have disappeared.

Any advice is welcomed.. (I know I'm being silly) but first time pregnancy - this baby is so wanted. :( x

Stop testing you will drive yourself crazy. Some test get lighter as well the higher the hormone gets and if this happens you will panic for no reason. You are pregnant not everyone gets symptoms. And some peoples symptoms dont being until 8+ weeks xx

You must stop. Yes, it's difficult to believe when you feel so normal but as pp says, you will drive yourself mad worrying about the smallest thing.

Congratulations Flowers you're pregnant!

If it says pregnant then you are indeed pregnant! :)

I didn't actually have any symptoms until about 7-8 weeks and then they went again around 10-11 weeks. I'm at 32 weeks now and some days my boobs will hurt, and other days they won't.

Everyone is different and some people just don't have any symptoms, or if they do are at different times to other people.

Step away from the tests. It's the way madness lies.

Ah thank you so much. It's just all very new for me. Worrying over it, probably isn't doing me or the sprout any good!

Thanks again!

In my first pregnancy with my DS I must have done about 20 tests, all positive! I had morning sickness come on about 8 weeks but still tested! My DP would joke I was crazy. I didn't feel pregnant ever Grin

With my second (current) pregnancy you'd think I'd have been more sensible? Nope, tested another 20 times even once the symptoms started. Am 25 weeks, she is kicking me non stop and it still doesn't feel real!

Don't worry OP, I am such a worrier in my pregnancies too, I think I stopped testing after I'd had my 12 week scan both times and it was confirmed "yes you do have a baby in there, here's a pic!" I am usually pretty sane, honestly! So you're not the only one.

Flowers sjd
i guess it is hard to believe the first test sometimes, especially if you've been waiting a while, so I do understand the re-testing. but you might be best re-focussing your energy to looking after yourself, bonding with your little bean etc :)

everyone has VERY different symptoms, or lack thereof, so I wouldn't worry about that. i'm sure you'll get sore boobs and nausea soon enough ;)

totally can't talk, will be re-testing on firday, 1 week on from bfp!

I think the way we talk about multiple tests and "feeling pregnant" on here sometimes feeds anxiety.

I just did one cheapo test, got a line, shrugged and went to see the doctor three weeks later...and I firmly believe this is because I hadn't looked at any pregnancy forums at the time!

Pregnancy is a potential a smorgasbord of zillions of symptoms - you might get some, or none! You might well get sore boobs and/or nausea but if you don't, it doesn't mean anything.

I did the exact same! 2 clear blue, 5 internet cheapies and 4 tescos own, and I think that was it, all on separate days just to be sure.

I only stopped when I had an early scan and that proved i was pregnant but even then I still wanted to do more but I realised it was a waste of money!

Put the tests down, it'll sink in soon enough Grin

Congratulations Flowers
