Has anyone any advice or experience of pain in right ovary in early pregnancy? For the last hour or so I've had a sharp shooting pain coming and going. I've called early pregnancy unit but waiting a call back and am worried sick while I wait Hmm

I had this around 6-7 weeks pregnant. It was only on my right side and I was very panicky about it. I contacted EPU and they booked me in for a scan within 48 hours to rule out ectopic. Turns out everything was fine, they said it was most likely just my body adjusting to pregnancy. The pains continued until around 9/10 weeks, not all the time but enough to be annoying! Chances are you will be fine. Have you had any bleeding?

No bleeding or anything else thankfully. I've called epu and they aren't concerned as I've no pain anywhere else or any bleeding. If I've still got it Monday then I've to call back and get down for a scan. Fingers crossed it disappears overnight.

A lot of people do experience this in early pregnancy and often it is only on one side. As I said I had these pains until about 10 weeks and then they just went. Paracetamol and a bath do help :)

Thanks Laura, has eased a bit now. If it comes back I'll try a bath.

I have the same thing on my left side, my doctor told me today it is usually the side the egg comes from and that the ovary will become inflamed to feed the hormones to the pregnancy. Nothing to worry about unless accompanied by red blood.

Hope that helps!
