11 weeks?! You look 5 months!

Hello all; wondered if you could give me a bit of a cheer up?!
I'm 11+3, and have just had my first fitting for a maternity bra when the assistant was VERY shocked at how big I was for 11 weeks, saying I looked more like 5 months.

It's already a bit of a sore point as I've been struggling to hide the bump at work, and we've had a number of people actually suss the pregnancy before we've had chance to tell them in our own time, which I've found hard.

I've actually lost 5lbs since finding out we were pregnant, but my boobs and tummy just keep on growing!!

Our first scan isn't until Friday 24th, but I'm concerned how I'll manage to hide it under heavy hoodies at work for another week! It feels huge today!

Can anyone tell me if they were this big/bloated at 11 weeks, and if this is normal? This is my first and so I have nothing to compare to!

Thank you in advance!Smile

It's most likely bloating, but could be twins? I showed quite early with my first but even earlier with my second!!

There's not much you can do, keep wearing loose tops if you can, scarves can help, the silky type but in this weather you probably don't want wear them!

Congratulations on your pregnancy

That is a lovely little bump. I showed around 13-14 weeks with dd1 but not until 20 weeks with dd2. Could just be bloating just now or could be twins. Everyone carries differently and every pregnancy is so different. I was around that size bump with dd1 at around 15 weeks but was about 26 weeks with dd2 before I had a bump of similar size.

X

Thank you for your comments! :)

I suppose we'll know more at our scan on Friday I'm worried it could be twins, but no real history in the family so we're hopeful for just one!!

Let's hope im just bloated! (Didn't think I'd ever hear myself say that!!)

Shop assistants do seem to think that they're the world authority on "appropriate" bump size. I'm very bloated at the moment (9 weeks) and it gets worse through the day.

you've not got long until your scan!

You look great, everyone grows at different rates, my bump was quite big early on but doesn't seem to have got much bigger since 6months. Only 3 weeks to go now!

I've had someone ask me what I'm pregnant with - a baby elephant! People just don't think.

I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow with my first and my tummy is really bloated up. One of my best friends who knows patted me on the tummy last night (I didn't mind, I know that seems to offend a lot of people!) and I told her that she was just patting my bloat and fluid retention and the baby is actually about the size of a raspberry!

You look lovely though, I think it's just more noticeable when slim ladies bloat up!

Thank you all for your comments, I don't mind the "bump" so much because I know what's inside! Just frustrating trying to hide it from those who don't know when it feels so obvious to me!

You're right though, some people just don't think do they?! I've had some people at work just outright ask me if I'm pregnant, which puts you in an awkward position either lying to their face or risking telling them early.
