Look fat not pregnant

I'm 21 weeks and although a bump is emerging, because I'm tall with a large frame I just look like I'm getting fat instead of looking pregnant! I haven't gained weight anywhere else but I don't have that normal body/round belly look that one associates with pregnancy either. When I tell people who don't know they look very surprised. I can't wear anything fitted because I look like I have a gut, so I'm stuck wearing loose tops that are unflattering.

I have friends at a similar stage of pregnancy and they look so much cuter with their round bumps. I just look like I ate too much pizza today Envy I'm hoping it will pass but is it possible not to "look pregnant" until 6-7 months? Especially for tall women?

Yep, same here. Didn't bother with keeping a record of bump photos month by month like everyone does because I just looked fatter and fatter! Didnt get a proper bump til 6 months, but probably could have hidden it if I'd wanted.
6ft tall, quite big to start.

I think everyone goes through a stage where they look fat before they look pregnant; I am short and on my second pregnancy so I started looking fat at about ten weeks when I still hadn't told many people.

Loose tops and scarves are good if you are trying to hide it, otherwise go for tops cut under the boob (is that called empire line?) Which make you look like you have a proper bump.

I'm not massively tall but I'm about 5'8 and I look like I have a beer gut or something at 22 weeks haha.

I hope it becomes a more defined bump soon.

I'm tall (6'2). I'm usually a 12-14. I don't look fat but being tall with a long body, I think my bump has grown longways first iyswim. I'm just starting to look 'proper' pregnant now at 24+2.

I'm flying long-haul next week and asked my doctor for a letter confirming how far along I am for the airline. I'd assumed by now I'd be obviously showing and wanted to make sure I could board with no issues. Now I'm thinking it's totally pointless. I also had an elaborate plan to try and get upgraded by rubbing my belly, out the window as well Wink

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this.

At 21 weeks I was similar, a week later I did look pregnant, and DH said oh no you've got a pregnant tummy, que tears from me saying I looked fat before then! Some days still it is more pronounced than others and can depend on what am wearing. Floaty tent dress today I look fat but comfortable. Ps am 27 weeks now.

22 weeks +6 as of today and I do not have one of those cute round bellies either. I'm only 5'4" so not that tall and I just look like I'm getting fat too. My waistline hasn't totally disappeared which is part of the problem. I've still got a little indent just above my navel. I thought it would be gone by now.

22 weeks here with my 2nd and I just look fat too! I'm about average height and a pre pregnancy size 8 so I just think it's the way some women carry.
The midwife told me I'd be massive with my second, but it's still not noticeable to anyone! Even friends and family have been surprised when I've announced. It's quite useful for me as I haven't told work yet though
