Hello. I'm currently 5/6 weeks pregnant, and I'm already showing. I don't know if it's just bloat or what but I'm huge! It's my second pregnancy, and I wasn't this big with my daughter until I was 15/16 weeks! Is this normal? Starting to panic something's wrong.. X

Don't worry. I was in maternity clothes really early with 2nd pg. It's like period bloating plus your muscles relaxing because of the hormones.

I've had a really fat tummy since 5 weeks and I'm normally a size 10. This is baby no. 4 so I think my tummy muscles are just shot!

Me. I looked 4/5 months at around 8/10 weeks. Now 18 weeks and I look how I did at 7 months with my first!!

Yeah, second pregnancy I got big a whole lot faster than I did with my first! Was desperate to tell people in my office by the time it got to my 12 week scan so that I could get into some comfy maternity clothes without raising eyebrows Grin

I think your stomach muscles are just not as strong once you've been pregnant once. As soon as the HCG hits, they assume pregnancy position. Everyone I've spoken to has said that you show a lot quicker in your second pregnancy - I can't remember how big I was at 5/6 weeks (I'm 28 weeks now) but I know that I was feeling pretty podgy pretty quickly this time around.

It's probably almost entirely bloating. When you wake up very first thing in the morning (after going to the loo if you need to obviously!), try taking a look then.

I have a slight bump (at the bottom) at 11 weeks pregnant which I can see in the morning. But as soon as I've been up for a while, or eaten or drunk anything, I start to inflate like a balloon. By the afternoon I genuinely look about five months pregnant. This is my first pregnancy as well.

Five words:

Gas. Constipation. And more gas.

Oh thank goodness it's not just me. A man on the street congratulated me yesterday on being pregnant. I'm five weeks and it's my first baby Shock

Its purely bloating not the baby. It will ease off. Ur uterus doesn't pop out of ur pelvis until 12-14 weeks. I had this at the beginning too. Xx

I'm pregnant with number 3 and have been obviously showing since 6 weeks. I'm 12 weeks now and look like I'm about 5 months. I was the same with number 2. With my first pregnancy it took slightly longer but I still had a bump by 12 weeks. I think it's just the shape of my body. I have a short torso and am quite small so there isn't anywhere for it to go!
