First Time early pregnancy advice...

Hi everyone, wonder if anyone has any words of wisdom/experience! I am 6 + 2 weeks pregnant with my first, and although it was a complete shock - it was a happy one. I've had cramps for the last week or so on and off which I have assumed is everything getting ready for the baby to grow. I haven't had any morning sickness - but my boobs are definitely sore, and I have definitely bloated as struggling to fit in my trousers/skirts. Is it normal to not have morning sickness at this stage? I am just panicking about every little thing!!

Hi firsttimer, congrats on your pregnancy Flowers

It is completely normal not to have any sickness at this stage. Some women don't get it ever - there are no symptoms really that everyone does, every pregnancy is unique. Enjoy being able to eat what you want!

Hi Firsttimer,

Many of my friends were lucky enough not to have any sickness whatsoever (lucky cows)!! I unfortunately am sick as a dog during pregnancy!

It maybe that all of a sudden you feel or get sick in the next few weeks OR your just lucky enough not to get any sickness!! Thank your lucky stars!!

Everyone is different and has different symptoms.. Try not to worry! Flowers

I kept waiting for the morning sickness too and panicked when everyone said it was the sign of a strong pregnancy and I hadn't had any.

28 weeks now and still not a day of sickness so don't worry if you never get it! Cramps and sore boobs are all good signs!

Congrats! I was very lucky never to have any sickness or tiredness or anything - this caused me much panic as was worried it was a bad sign but I am now 24 weeks pregnant so it was all fine, if you never get morning sickness then please don't worry - I ruined what should have been an exciting time during early pregnancy by worrying soooo much that something was wrong. I had sore boobs and that was my only symptom. Hope you continue to feel well!

You're probably a little early for sickness yet. It tends to kick in around week 7 if you're going to get it, though everyone's different. Cramps and sore breasts, PMT like feeling, are normal at your stage. What you are experiencing is what I would expect at your stage. Best thing you can do is get on the folic acid and vitamin D if you're not already, and eat as healthily as possible while you're not on either the beige food plan or the eat everything that's not nailed down diet. Because there's a fair chance one or both of those will happen in the near future!
