Ashermans

Hi everyone, I'm knew. I have just found out that I am about 4 weeks pregnant. I previously had two miscarriages and severe Asherman's following a D&C. I had around 6 hysteroscopies under GA to remove the scarring.

Obviously, I am now feeling very nervous about this new pregnancy and would appreciate any advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

Apologies if this has been discussed previously!

Never been in your shoes, but welcome!! and Congratulations!! You're due in July right? There is a July thread in the ante-natal section, you should join them. I'm in May and we have some great chats.

I had it following a mc and d and c.

Mine was a severe case, the adhesuions of the uterus totaly closed the cervical os, I was having periods but couldn't bleed....very painful.

I had a second d and c to break down the scar tissue and then had an IUD fitted to keep everything 'open' and had to take oral contraceptves (I used cilest as it is more oestrogenic than others) to help to re-line the uterus which was very thin and patchy.

once the IUD was removed it took us three months to concieve dd. She was a section....not due to the ashermans. there is a sliglty raised risk of probelms with delivering the placenta, but I had no problems.

Ds was later conceived and was a slo a section (footling breech)

I have had no further problems form the ashermans.

Hi ladies,

Not sure if anyone's still looking at this thread but fi they are can I join?
Had a D&C for retained placenta after birth of dd nearly 2 years ago and since then no period, not even a spot! Having pains more or less monthly - bad period pains but not unbearable, GP has done blood tests (all normal) and given me tablets to force a period but still nothing. I asked if there could be any problems from the D&C and GP said no way! I just foudn otu about Ashermans and think it soudns like a possibility. GP has referered to fertility clinic but there is 3-6 months wait locally and even if I pay to go private the earliest they can fit me in is late September! Going crazy waiting for so long, just want a diagnosis - also worried about how long will have to wait for treatment!
