Aldi Nappies? Pampers Nappies? Any other?

First baby, not sure on quality of nappies.

What do you recommend?

I heard wonderful things about Aldi nappies but wasn't very impressed when I tried them. I use pampers mostly, co-op are also a good contender. I've used virtually all at some point but none really compare to pampers IMO.

We couldn't get on with pampers, they irritated DS. I wouldn't get too many to start with and see what suits. Luckily none of the cheap ones irritate DS so I tend to get whatever is cheapest out of Saintsbury's, Asda, Boots.

Another vote for sainsburys here. Have used them for months now for DD with no issues, they are very well priced as well.

Lidl or Aldi in this house. Both excellent. I found Pampers rubbish tbh, and twice the price of the others.

I quite liked ASDA's nappies, they didn't have as strong a smell as pampers, though once we got past the newborn stage we did switch to pampers.

I'd agree, don't get too many. We've tried every brand with our son and only ones that fit are pampers. He's got really long legs and every other brand just leaked as they didn't fit quite right. He's two and a half and I'm desperately trying to encourage potty training before baby two is due in August!

I just see what's on offer and get it from the cheapest place at the time. Never had problems with any brand yet.

Pampers were the only ones that worked for us.

Morrisons nappies are the favourite in this house, never had a leakage issue unlike with pampers, they also suit the longer torso baby :)

We started off with Pampers as the newborn nappies have a useful indicator to tell you when it's wet, but after that moved to Asda Little Angels and never looked back!

I use both aldi, and also morissons and asdas value range (only for bigger babies though). Find them all fine in all respects, and the value range ones very cheap.

Our DD us long and thin, and tesco future best but it seems to be dependent on the shape of the baby. I'd recommend getting single pa jets from a couple of brands until you know what will work for you (pampers leaked like crazy for us and boots were too short)

It tends to be Aldi or Pampers here- both suit my DS. We use Pampers at night and then Aldi in the day. I think it completely depends on tour baby though!

We use Aldi nappies - we've got on brilliantly with them. Never had a leakage (apart from a particularly copious liquid poo which ran out of the back as I lay him on the changing mat!).

Personally I loved Aldi, also liked Pampers but they were much more expensive. Hated Huggies, they never fitted well on either of mine. Own-brands were mixed, I seem to remember Asda being OK, Boots not so good but none were as good as Aldi/Pampers.

BUT BUT BUT - it does depend on your child and their particular shape and habits. I know some people loved Huggies and didn't get on well with the ones I liked. So my main advice would be not to buy tons of any particular sort upfront - try a few different types (starting with Aldi!).

Also - you may find you start needing the next size up sooner than expected (depending on baby's size and growth), so that's another good reason not to stock up too much in advance.

Have you considered reusable cloth nappies? Ultimately cheaper in the long run and environmentally healthy. The main expense is buying them, but second-hand ones are really good value for money.

Agree with cloud. The start up costs are obviously more expensive, but overall you save an absolute ton. And then if you have more children later you can save literally hundreds, if not over a grand!

Don't forget even if you decide to go with disposables, you will need to flush any poo down the toilet once the baby is off breastmilk.

Try some different ones, see what works for your baby. Don't stock up on anything until you've tried it and found it works for you and your baby.

We tried them all and stuck with Aldi. They are brilliant for us. It just depends. Babies and nappies are different shapes so try a few and see which work for you
