It's normal. The first sign I was pregnant was period type pains, so I waited 5 days for a period that never came. These cramps continued on and off until about 10 weeks for me. It made me nervous but I'm 29 weeks now so all fine. If they become very painful or you get any bleeding then obviously contact the assessment unit.

I felt like period was just about to start with both pregnancies for a good while certainly 8 weeksish.

If there's no bleeding it's probably fine but if it gets worse, phone GP or locale maternity if you have your booking in details.

My cramps have just stopped in the last couple of weeks and I'm now at 12 weeks. From everything I read its completely normal - your uterus is expanding. I MC'd at 5/6 weeks last year so I panicked but been fine so far.

Oh thank god for that I'd just come on here to ask the same question Smile

Just to say I had this up until about 8wks. Then nothing for a while, then I had more at 13wks. No sharp pain, just a constant, dull, dragging ache. It's everything stretching and growing.
