8.5 wks ivf pregnant/bleeding/vanishing twin

I am 8.5 weeks pregnant via IVF where I had 2 embryos put back in.

At my 6 week scan we saw a big sac and heartbeat and also a much smaller sac. I was asked to go back for a rescan at 8 weeks.

So I went in on Saturday and baby A had grown and was the right size with good heartbeat.

Baby B hadn't really grown although we could see the heartbeat it was about a quarter of the size of baby A. The Dr did warn that it was almost certain that baby B would perish.

On Monday evening I had a bleed. Nothing too heavy - almost a quick trickle and it was brown. When I showered there were brown bits.

There was nothing overnight or in the day yesterday but again in the evening when I went to the loo I had brown blood in my pad. Nothing on my pad this morning but when I wiped I had what I can only describe as caviar - brown/black balls and bits. When I checked the toilet there was a big brown/black lump made up of smaller balls/bits.

Should I be worried? I am suspecting its baby B as the dr said I could have a bleed or it could absorb back into my body.

I haven't had any red blood or severe cramping. Very very slight cramps which I didn't even notice.

I am going to call the clinic when they open but was wondering if anybody else had been through anything similar?

Didn't want to read and run!
Sorry for what your going through. I didn't quite go through the same although due to an early bleed I found out there was twins although baby B reabsorbed (didn't bleed or anything so no idea it had happened till scan)
I'm now 34 weeks with baby A and everything has been great.
Again, I'm sorry for what your going through. Xx

Thanks Heather. I spoke to the clinic and they believe it's baby B and have thankfully booked me in for a reassurance scan later today.

Good luck with your scan, I know how unnerving it is to wait. Fx Grin

Hello! I had ivf in March and had 3 embryos put back in, 2 implanted but only 1 was viable so the other was an empty sac that they said would disappear. I'm 13 weeks and on Friday I started bleeding, on some days it's been very heavy. I've had 2 scans and baby is showing as doing fine but initially I was wondering if it could be the second sac disappearing. Because it then got slightly heavier and prolonged I'm now not so sure. It could be something else. I've got another scan Friday. Hope your scan goes well today I know exactly how you feel. X

Thanks all. Just been for scan and baby A doing well and growing nicely. Baby B unfortunately is perishing hence the reason for the bleed and stuff.

It was a relief to see strong heartbeat of baby A though.
