Hi, on Tuesday I hung up some new blackout curtains in my bedroom. I've noticed a strange smell coming from them, a sort of stuffy smell like old socks! I googled it and it seems this is a common issue with blackout curtains and its to do with the chemicals used on the blackout lining. I haven't felt unwell as a result, but I'm worried now in case it's harmful to breathe in during pregnancy (I'm almost 37 weeks).
I wondered if anyone else has had this issue and whether it's best to have the curtains dry-cleaned to get rid of the smell or whether the smell will fade by itself?
Many thanks, Sarah
