Hard bump, low fluid?

Hi I'm just about to turn 32 wks and have had quite a hard, tight, solid bump for a couple of weeks. I mentioned it when chatting to someone at work and she said she had similar with her first and it turned out she had hardly any fluid.
I do feel a lot more movement with this baby then with DD1 and my stomach moves about a lot when she does which makes me wonder if there isn't much padding in there.
I have a doctors appointment next Thurs but should I get it checked before then would it do any harm to wait?

Hi, my bump I really hard too but midwife hasn't raised any concerns. Are u slim everywhere else? It might be that all ur weight is in ur tummy. Ive not put weight on anywhere else and I think my bump is hard because I've no weight anywhere else xx

It could also be the babies back? Sometimes they are curved round with their back sticking out. I would mention it to your midwife but try not to worry. People are a bit thoughtless sometimes with their comments.

The fact that I had extremely low fluid was picked up by my midwife when I measured small for dates.

It meant a few extra scans and a few trips to the hospital for monitoring.

DD1 came early, at nearly 37 weeks and I put that down to the low fluid, but I had normal fluid levels with DD2 and she came early too.

Thanks will see what doctor says when I go next week week, was measured at 28 wks and was on the 90th percentile line and I'm sure I've got bigger since then so I don't think I will measure small. Just feel very tight all over which is quite uncomfortable.
I'm a size 16/18 so don't fall into that slim category where it's just all baby out front, I have a bit of a flabby bit right at the bottom of the bump which was my before pregnancy excess then from belly button up its just solid!
Hopefully just were baby is positioned.

Where is your placenta positioned? Only asking as with my previous pregnancys I had anterior placentas and it provided more cushioning and the bumps felts softer. This time it's a posterior placenta and feels rock hard. I can literally feel the baby by rubbing my hand over my bump. I had a growth scan yesterday and my fluid levels are normal.

Just read your last post about your size and bump, I'm a bit bigger aswell and have the wobble at the bottom.. In fact it just sounds like yours!

Isn't solid normal? Mine is anyway and my amniotic fluid is on 75th percentile so I wouldn't worry

It was posterior with my first, this time it's right at the top so I'm not feeling much up into the rib area which is a bonus Grin
