Rib pain - what's normal?

Hi ladies I am 35 weeks today and past 2 days have had agonising rib pain on my right hand side which I understand is normal as the uterus expands under my ribs however I'm not too sure it should be this painful?

I can't bend down or twist without it taking my breath away but sitting down is fine? Do you think I need to ring midwife? X

Hi coneywonder. I've been suffering from rib pain which I thought was muscular, but after examination by GP was told was a fracture that is likely caused by coughing/throwing up in my case. Have you been coughing by any chance?

Hi thanks for your reply. No I haven't and I haven't felt baby kick me up near my ribs either. I read it's a sign of pre e and freaked out but my hospital isn't worried x
