Hi ladies,

Does anyone have any recent reviews of maternity care and delivery and wexham park or hillingdon hospital?

Trying to decide between the two and really struggling - I want to make sure I'm in the safest place!

Anyone deliver at either recently? Was the care good? Did anyone book a private room after?

Any info would be really appreciated! Smile thanks xx

I had my dd at Wexham just under 2 years ago - found the quality of care really good. The midwife I had was fantastic. Had an emcs in the end after a long non progressing labour but felt well informed about the decision and my midwife stayed after the end of her shift to be there with me and dh. Postnatal ward was busy, but I had no issues.

Hello my sister was in Wexham Park last year. The post natal ward was very busy and she often didn't get her painkillers or antibiotics on time so she missed some doses. The heating controls had broken and it was so hot the babies were too sleepy to feed. The nurses I met were kind but it seemed like they'd given up a bit because they were stretched amongst so many patients. My sister was there for a week and found it a really unpleasant experience. That said, the care my nephew received in SCBU was excellent and we're very grateful for that.

Thank you both - very interesting! I notice wexham does around 5000 births a year, whereas hillingdon does 4000 ish..not sure if that makes a huge difference..but I have read that wexham can get very very busy..it's such a big decision to make!

Thanks very much for your comments both of you :) x

I'm 17 weeks and have chosen Wexham. So far all has been good, I'm high risk so under consultant care. Have had a couple of work colleagues who delivered at Wexham in the past two years and they gave good reports.

I'm really pleased that others have had good experiences there. Best of luck whatever you decide Flowers
