Just back from out of hours. I really want to cry. I'm 15+5 with DC4 and Been getting back pain for the past few days. It's been getting progressively worse and today it moved to my lower right back and I thought this may be kidney pain. I was honestly brought to tears with the pain and I consider myself to have quite a high pain threshold. So they tested my urine and all was clear and the doctor checked me over and told me he thought it was more muscular/pelvic pain. I'm so upset as I genuinely thought I'd get antibiotics and be sent on my way and it would get better. I've never experienced back/pelvic pain in my pregnancies before and I know from friends etc that it's probably going to get worse the bigger I get. I just want to cry as I don't know how I can cope with another 24 weeks of this pain. Especially with 3 kids and as it gets worse. Is it not too early to be getting this?? Anyone had similar experience? Did anything help? I've to self refer to the physio tomorrow x

Oh poor you! Sounds horrible :-(. I'm sorry to say I haven't really got anything great to suggest, I just wanted to sympathise! I'm 22 weeks pregnant and can't walk v far without it hurting my lower back, but I have a sit down job so it's not that bad for me. Would a back support help? Also, I've heard great things about physio so you may have some real luck there x

Aw huni, it's awful isn't it? Ive had lower back/pelvic pain since about then. It's brought me so close to tears so many times. I feel your pain Brew and Cake does help (as long as someone else gets it for you)

Definitely self refer to physio, take some paracetamol (I only take it when im heading out/it's really bad), a hot water bottle at your back.

Look up pelvic girdle pain on nhs website. There's another website as well, pelvic partnership I think.

And basically get doing your pelvic floors/pelvic tilt exercises.

Hope it eases soon Flowers

Thanks ladies. Think it's sometimes just nice to hear you're not alone. I've got an antenatal physio group on Friday so will see how it goes and get back to you. x
