Sickness - when did it start for you?

I've been merrily getting on with life feeling like I'm one of the lucky ones, but now at 8+3 I suddenly feel TERRIBLE! The house smelt of garlic heave this morning and I had to sit outside in my pyjamas and the cried when my other half said he couldn't smell anything and I was being silly. I've felt ill all day, as if I'm on the verge of piling and slept for three hours this afternoon. I hope this is a one off and not the beginning of sickness for me. :(

Sorry to say I thought I had gotten away with sickness too, until I was 9 weeks. Unfortunately it hung around until around 17 weeks and then disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived. If I had an empty stomach it was so much worse so I had to have a supply of the worlds blandest foods on me at all times, normally slices of warburtons bread and butter. Now DS is here I can't stand the taste of it at all!

Hope it's just a one off for you!

Thank you - bland food is all I could stomach so it's not looking good. Crisp sandwiches tomorrow then!

Started at 7 weeks and ended at 13 weeks for me. I could smell EVERYTHING. I also felt bad if I got at all hungry so ate little and often, but only bland things that didn't smell, I ate a lot of crackers and breadsticks!

Ugh, so sorry you are at this stage. It really sucks. Mine started around week 6 and carried on until atound 13 weeks. Still get very tiny bouts of it, but nothing as horrendous as before. The smell of garlic still makes me wretch. Don't let anyone think you're being silly because they DO NOT know what this feels like or what smells can smell like. We haven't cooked with garlic or onions since the sickness started. Its just how is must be. DH must understand and deal with it just as you deal with it. If it gets really bad, go see GP, there are things they can give you that can help. Hang in there, and do whatever keeps you feeling best.

Sorry to say it but mine started at 6ish weeks and is now only just calming down at 16.. Please please trust your instincts though. I went twice to the doctors saying I felt really unwell and was being sick a lot and they fobbed me off with normal morning sickness. In the end I went back again and was dehydrated and got anti-sickness tablets. If it doesn't ease up don't be afraid of asking for help. You may be over it soon or by 12 weeks but I hit 12 weeks and expected to feel magically better and then felt lied to and upset because nobody had told me it could go on for longer. Just eat whatever you want little and often, don't stress over how much or little you're eating it won't hurt baby. Just concentrate on getting fluids like water/juice down Flowers hope you feel better soon x x

I didn't. That's how I managed to get to 17 weeks pregnant, when my expanding stomach suggested something was up. I had irregular periods so thought nothing of it!

Mine started really really early, around four weeks, just queasy in the morning. Now only still at five weeks but I get up and first thing I do is shove something in my mouth like a piece of bread. Went in the butchers the other day and the smell was overwhelming even though every other time I have hardly smelled anything as the meat is so fresh there. Not going back for a while! I could smell onions outside my apartment block even though no sign of them cooking. I feel like a really crap superhero.

Mine started in the 2nd tri Angry
I did like the pp and shoved some bland food in my mouth first thing in the morning (the drawer of my bedside table was full of various crackers and snacks) and that seemed to help keep the worst of it at bay.

Week six. I thought I had gotten away with it as well!

It's a bit rubbish, but I seem to have got off relatively lightly compared to others. Since I was a smoker before I got pregnant, I think that has helped to dampen any crazy heightened sense of smell, although I struggle alot with stale air, or very stinky foods. I can't watch anyone eating either.

All I've been able to eat for the last week during the day is crisps, maybe bread, sugar free hard boiled sweets, and the occasional bit of cheese. It's better in the evenings.

Mine started at 12 weeks! I really thought I'd got away with it but no! Although it did only last a week or so, I'm now 18 weeks and feeling much better! X
