Sharp pains at 24 weeks

Hi all. Hope you can help. Last night I had a wholloping Braxton hicks which lasted a good 15 mins (weird) and was accompanied by a sharp pain down one side of my abdomen (left). It faded after I had a big drink of water and I went to sleep. Since then, I've a a few sharp pains in my vagina, possibly cervix area. No discharge although I did have some brown (old blood) on Friday to Saturday (not much). Have called antenatal unit about both things, each time they've said 'if it gets worse or baby's movements change then call us again'. Nothing is getting worse as such but the twinges remain. No further discharge.

I guess I'm concerned maybe I have a uti or something, but don't want to waste their time by going down there if there's nothing wrong. I've spent most of the day lounging around in bed... Which is bloody boring!

What would you do in this situation? Go and get checked out anyway, sit it out, carry on as normal?

I never know what to do in these kind of ambiguous situations!
