Has anyone had their csection alone? This will be my 3rd section and were really struggling with childcare for our kids. Basically MIL is in Italy and my mum is working and can't take a few days off as shes actually retiring that week of all weeks!!! Has anyone done it alone? DH has always been there but this time it's just a busy mess. We don't have anyone else no not other family or anyone. Ahhh

No but I know people who have taken a doula in similar circumstances, when they wanted support.

I did, and it was absolutely fine! The surgeon and anaesthetist were very kind and patient, and explained what was happening. And once they gave me my beautiful DD, the Queen could have been in the room and I wouldn't have taken any notice Grin

It will be over before you know it, it will be fine!

Straight after DH was there, he was just too squeamish to come into theatre. But when he went home the midwives helped. There were plenty of other Mums on their own, with partners just coming at visiting time.

Honestly, you won't be left to fend for your self, and DH will surely be able to visit with your older DC.

Booked for elcs next thursday and plan to go alone again.

fathers and children have longer visiting hours (well at my hospital) and then when he went home the midwife's helped and were amazing.
