Pregnancy

feeling faint third trimester

I keep getting a hot, uncomfortable feeling accompanied by the feeling I'm going to faint. It happens in the morning, evening and at night/early hours. Lying down makes no difference.

I'm on iron tablets, have passed the glucose tolerance test and have normal blood pressure. I'm 32 weeks. Any ideas what it might be? Midwife advised going to docs but that it's probably just my body's reaction to pregnancy thus nothing can be done. Have booked appointment but ages away.

Anyone experienced similar and is there anything I might try to relieve it? I'm not getting a lot of sleep due to pelvic issues and this feeling is exasperating it...

I asked about this when I was being monitored on Thursday, I'm 37 weeks, and she didn't seem concerned, just told me that they can do another blood test to check my iron levels and to eat more greens... mine were borderline low at my 28 week bloods, but I refused Iron tablets as they make me feel rubbish.

My blood pressure is always fine, so I've put it down to pregnancy joys... Still worth getting checked out though.

Yes, sort of what my midwife was like. My iron levels were a bit low, so I went on iron tablets. Eating well. I've sinned and googled it in my early morning stress and most sources say it's hormonal - especially because it comes with hot flushes. It can be linked to dehydration too. Oh well, we haven't got long to go!!! Just weird as I had none of this in first pregnancy.

Still getting these faint episodes. They're really weird - they wake me up in the night, like 4 in the morning and today it lasted most of the day until I had a big braxtons hicks and it seems to have relieved it a bit. Made me think it might be to do with a nerve and the baby's position. I've been carrying high.

Has anyone had any faint/hot/can't seem to shift it even if lying down feelings? I get palpitations a fair bit too sitting/lying, which stop if I move position.

I'm getting this too at 33 weeks. I've put it down to my low blood pressure but even eating loads of salt and drinking loads isn't helping much. Bloods at 28 weeks showed no anaemia and I passed a gtt. Will watch this thread with interest to see if anyone knowledgeable pops up! Otherwise planning to raise it at my next antenatal appt on 11th.

Its just another joy of pregnancy im afraid. Sometimes theres no real reasons for any of the symptoms we experience. pregnancy can be shit......xx

Well, my midwife said it was a GP matter and said it was 'probably hormones'. Last night I managed to sleep the entire night on my left side and feel right as rain this morning.

I have my suspicions it's the vagus nerve being compressed by my little one, but not enough to cause total fainting. Last night I got on my knees and did a few dromedary drops when it started again and that seemed to help (taking the pressure off I guess). Partner rubbed my back too and I sat forward on the sofa and wiggled my hips.

I wonder why there is so little info on what goes on in pregnancy. Just goes to show how little medical knowledge we really have about our bodies!

Having the same issue. Midwife said yesterday it could be from lack of sleep... So perhaps try get some sleep in the afternoon if that's possible?
Worked for me- slept longer in the morning today and had a lie down in the afternoon too- and its worked! Haven't felt dizzy for the first time in weeks...
