Hello :)

Looking for other mums to be with a BMI over 30 for moral support. Mine is 35, didn't shed any baby weight, comfort ate post birth of DD1 18 months ago and didn't exercise enough/at all due to spd and c sec pain.

I'm now 14+5 with dc2 and bricking it at the thought of being even more mahoosive. I found the booking in appointment with mw a bit patronising with the ' healthy eating chat', i know my diet needs to be balanced but with hyperemesis and ketosis the only foods that have been my friends are the evil carbohydrates!

Any body else in this boat?

16.5 stone 5'7...a heffalump! Tori you sound similar to me except for you are swimming! i'm so self conscious, although i know it would be the best way to exercise as no joint stress. Im pretty convinced weight makes spd worse, but who knows.I have a very active job, on my feet 8 hours a day and lots of walking/physical jobs, but at home i just collapse. Yesterday i slept pretty much all day! i just feel like a blob. the nausea is draining! MW told me about the 5mg folic acid but not that i could get it on prescription so have to look into that, thanks for the advice

My DS is 8 months now but at booking in I was BMI 35 at 5'8.

Midwife had all the heathy eating and sent me for gtt that came back positive. It was positive by 0.1 over the threshold and they did it 5mins early so I'm sure how accurate. Did all my blood sugar up to birth and it was all always fine.

High BMI meant I couldn't use their birth centre facility as my risk of intervention was higher then normal. Which upset me as I had dd in their birth centre and absolutely loved it!!

But pregnancy went by as normal and birth was completely routine. Baby was totally fine.

I had severe sickness and at a check around 16 weeks was 5 kilo lighter then when I was booked in.
When I went in to birth they weighed me 3 times on 2 different scales as my weight was only 1 kilo more then at booking in.
Went home 6 kilo lighters. Fantastic!!

Don't worry. And don't let it ruin your pregnancy.
Your gonna have 2 tiny people to run around after in only a few months time.
You will lose it then
