waking up at stupid o'clock....

I've been waking up a 3am or thereabouts for the last 4 nights and not getting back to sleep. At first I put it down to jetlag as we returned from a holiday in the usa on Thursday. But now I'm not sure. Anyone got any tips or tricks how to get back to sleep? I'm desperate. And 15 weeks pregnant. Sad

Ugh I hear ya!

Although when I wake up at those times it's because I need to pee Angry

I struggle getting back to sleep as well, although I never used to. Maybe it's a pregnancy thing.

When I struggled to go back to sleep a few nights ago, I picked up my book and started reading. It took about an hour though to drop off again, then my alarm went off an hour after that!

No advice, but hopefully someone will be along to help! Just know you're not alone......

and me. up every hour or two hours, like clockwork. then staring at the ceiling. OH has chosen this precise time to start snoring too, grrrrrr.

i don't know if it's true, but i quite like the idea: i read somewhere that it is your body's way of trying to prepare for the baby waking up all the time during the night, so you are a bit more used to it when it happens.

I'm 10+5 and since before I found out at 4+2 I have been waking up in the middle of the night a few times and then really early in the morning. It must be our bodies preparing us for what's to come because I am exhausted during the day so feel like I could sleep for hours! X

I've never really understood how it would help for your body to deprive you of sleep now. When the baby comes surely you just feel worse rather than if you'd had months of refreshing sleep!

Yep here as well. I wake at any point between 2am and 6am and that's pretty much it for the rest of the night. It is,h however, getting a bit better as I go on (I'm now 17wks). Doesn't help the exhaustion.

Yep I'm up between 4 & 5:30 every day, depending on the time sometimes I just get up for the day, then by 1pm in falling asleep!
No solutions, just solidarity Sad it's shit!

It's nice to know I'm not alone! It's driving me mad and it's also disturbing DH. It's not fair on him as he has long day at work and I don't. I think I might just get up if I wake again at the same time tomorrow. I've started to try sleeping on my left side as recommended. I think that might have something to do with it. I just want to sack it but then I feel guilty in case I'm cutting off supply to my placenta or whatever Confused

Both my midwife and consultant told me not to worry too much about left side thing. I'd say I do about 60/40!

I think I am already, subconsciously! I go to sleep on my left - nearly always wake up on my right.

I've always slept on my left side since I was little, so not sure that has any beating on the lack of sleep... I generally wake up at 4am most mornings, sometimes I go back to sleep and other times I lay awake, has been like this since the start of the second trimester and am now 34+6. I find that no matter how I lay, whether side or back nothing seems to make a difference.

yes, same here it is tedious.

sometimes I read, sometimes a snack. I kickk dh when he snores and I check my existing babies (who give me enough practice in being awake thank you very much)

bore bore bore
