Would never use johnsons products on a baby. I've used some in the past and they bring me out in blotchy, itchy rashes.

It's also going to be on offer on the asda baby event which starts 20th April. I've used Johnsons with all 3 of my dc never had a problem in fact I swear by the Johnsons bedtime cream after a bath helped my little ones to relax and sleep

Never had a problem with my children either, although it won't be used until baby is a bit bigger - we'll just use warm water to start with.

I have found that the bedtime bath is mild enough if used sparingly; the other products are prone to bringing out a rash in sensitive skin.

My DS reacts badly to Johnson's which is a shame because I love the smell so much! I used the lotion and it did dry out my skin, but everyone is different so it might not be the case. This offer is brilliant though, thanks for sharing - I may buy one at that price and try again with DS2.

Surely every child is different, though, with how they react to products/brands? I'm expecting my first so have no first hand experience with Johnson's yet I'm afraid.
What do you ladies recommend that don't get on with Johnson's?

My son has eczema, his skin is really sensitive but Johnsons never bothered him. I'm really surprised so many have trouble with it - I hope this little one I'm expecting doesn't!

RL20 - we will just use warm water and cotton wool at first with baby, they don't need anything else when they're so little, if Johnson's sets of a reaction this time I'm not sure what we'll use! Anyone have any suggestions?

Be careful before splashing out. All of my family's babies have been allergic to Johnsons baby products.

My DD was fine with the wash but reacted with crying and a rash immediately to the baby oil. We had to put her straight in a bath of clear water to get it off. The shampoo also smells of chemicals.....so I'm not a fan!

I've found Johnson products to be terrible, brought dc out in a rash and gave them thrush. I tried using it up myself as I don't have sensitive skin, but it gave me thrush too

I like baby e45, humphreys corner, child's farm and similar very neutral and organic products, none of these give dc any problems.

Y'know, you could save even more by not purchasing it. Babies just need water on their delicate skins, nothing else really, probably for the first 18mo or so, then a mild, fragrance-free soap only.
Babies smell divine- don't cover up that milky loveliness!

If you want to then great, but not really necessary if you don't want to spend the money. Ds is 20 months and we have only washed him with warm water and he's lovely and clean - the few times we used a baby shampoo because we thought we should, he immediately got cradle cap which slowly cleared up when we stopped.

Why do the ladies on here feel the need to bitch and moan... The OP said IF YOU ARE INTERESTED if you're not then why do you need to condemn others for wanting to use it? All babies will react differently, some will be fine with it so just let them be rather than telling us all how rubbish you think it is...

I didn't mean to be a bitch, sorry if that is the way it came across. I actually brought this for my dd1 when I was pregnant and for someone else as a gift but just wanted to share my experience

It's not "bitching and moaning" to point out something that is detrimental to the wellbeing of babies. That's what MN is for- to help people.
Lots of people think using harsh chemicals on babies' skin is okay, but really it isn't. For years people used talcum powder on babies' bottoms, now it's banned because it's so carcinogenic!

Yes- bifwif did a nice thing- it's great to help each other out when you find a bargain
However, other people who have BTDT are also trying to help, by pointing out that these products aren't actually necessary, and in some cases are harmful.

None of my children could tolerate Johnson's products - they all have eczema. People bought us bottles and bottles of the stuff, that we never used, and felt bad because people had wasted their money on unusable stuff.

If you want "UR right, hun. U know what's best" then there's actually other sites that you would probably feel more at hime and supported on. MN is more about helping people, even when that means having to point out where they may be going wrong.

Sharing experiences is fine and I'm all for that, but who are you to judge about whether or not someone is 'going wrong' I just don't get the mentality of people on here sometimes...
