This time I'll be packing a labour bag and an over night/on the ward bag.

Labour bag:
Comfy labour clothes-loose nightie, something for in the water (if you're going for a water birth)
Socks
Maternity pads
Snacks and drinks
Flannel
Small washbag- just soap, toothbrush and paste (for both of you) and lip balm
Spare knickers
camera
Phone
Zip lock bag for baby- newborn nappy, vest, sleepsuit, scratch mits
Change for parking
Towel
Your Notes

Over night bag;
Plain black, large knickersx5
Lots of maternity pads
Couple of nighties- ones that have boob access if you're planning to bf
More food and drinks
I pad/Mp3 player and chargers for phone
Pack of new born nappies
4 vests and 4 sleepsuits
Little bowl for water and cotton wool for nappy changes
Socks, slippers and dressing gown
Wash bag- I'm going to include, Lush dream cream, lip balm, shampoo+conditioner 2 in 1, soap, toothbrush and paste, mouthwash.
If you're planning to bf- Lansinoh and nursing bras
Loose comfy outfit for going home -Think preggers yoga pants and top

Anything else can be brought to you during visiting I think!

The zip lock bag is for stuff for your baby- not for your actual baby Grin

I second taking separate bags for labour and overnight, much easier to find things.

The list above is pretty good. I would add hairbrush for during labour especially if you have long hair (I kept wanting someone to brush and tie my hair back because it got sweaty and in my face).
Also food for labour - drinks (not fizzy as you can't drink fizzy ones if you have an epidural) and easy to eat snacks.
I packed a couple of tennis balls as well, because found dh rolling them round on my lower back really helped ease things.

In your overnight bag, put in a book as well. If you're in for a few hours/a day during the daytime, and baby is sleeping, you'll want something to do (after you've spent the first three hours just staring at your baby going Shock ).

Then make sure your oh packs it, or at least has a really really good look through it, so that when you're yelling for something during labour he knows where to find it ;)
