Aching/uncomfortable/restless legs at night. Anyone else?

Am 22+6. I've been getting very uncomfortable at night, and sometimes after sitting down, for weeks now. I'm slim and bump is tiny still (so I don't think it's about the extra weight), but OH ordered me a dream genii to try, Think this might be making it even worse! They aren't cramps, I just feel like I need to move them, and am very uncomfortable on my side. They are better if I lie on my back but obviously trying to avoid this.

If I get up they are fine but soon start throbbing again, as if I've done too much pavement pounding. It's mainly the top half of my thighs.

Anyone had similar? Fine when moving around so don't think it's SPD. Any suggestions of sleep position that I might be missing? Or dietary things to consider.

I've been pretty symptomless so far so can't complain too much, but feel like I must be missing a trick here.

Sounds like restless legs. Can be caused by lack of potassium or magnesium. Try a banana before bed and a handful of nuts in the day.

It doesn't really feel like restless legs though. Sometimes I get that a bit, but it's more that I need to move them to stretch them out. I get a similar ache when I get up from my desk chair, but not so strong.

I eat a banana every day already but could add peanuts to my diet. Don't like most nuts unfortunately. Have run out of preg multivitamin though, so when my boots order arrives I will start those again and see if it reduces the discomfort. Thank you.

I have similar. I've found putting a pillow between my knees helps, also switching sides to give each side a break.

I tried to experiment a bit last night. I tried putting the genii at my ankles but it was too fat and felt like I had a raised leg. The leg I kept straight was ok so seems like it's a bent leg thing. I don't think I can lie on my side with straight legs though.

After I got up for a pee I propped the genii up so I was in more of a sitting position. That was better but not sure if I can sleep like that.

Will keep experimenting and see if I can find a solution.

I have been having this for many weeks now, though I do have SPD. I am lucky if I get more than an hour or 2's sleep some nights due to the pain in my hips and thighs, occasionally coupled with restless leg syndrome. I take vits and eat bananas and has made no difference. Also tried sleeping with a pillow under my hips, which helps a little and one between my legs. I get so sore, I constantly toss and turn, poor baby must think its in a washing machine most nights. Going to physio later and praying they can help! So I definitely empathise with you!

It's a bit miserable isn't it? I was thinking mine almost feel like they are full of lactic acid. But I don't get relief from rubbing them.

It definitely doesn't help when I get pinned down by the cat. I'm going to accidentally send her flying across the room one of these nights!

Thought I'd add an (interim) update for the sake of Google search results! We are away for a few days. Therefore, different mattress, no genii, and no cat having an opinion on where I lie. Although I've been moving about a bit, no leg pain at all. I have found I've spent a bit more time on my back but that seems to be better not worse.

So when I get home am going to try without the pillow. Then try the spare bed. Chances of a night without the cat are pretty slim!! Basically a process of elimination. Our mattress is really ready for replacement but we've decided to wait until after I have the baby in case things get messy at night Shock. If it does turn out to be a mattress issue I can have the odd night in the spare room to catch up on sleep!
