Hi there,

First time I've written on anything like this. It's my 30th birthday tomorrow & my husband & I have been trying for a baby for ages. This is the first month I have had symptoms & really felt I could be pregnant. I did a test early before we went out for dinner which seemed negative, but when I came home & for some reason checked again it showed as positive!!!! Did another & a really, really, really faint line showed but took about 10 mins. I'm so confused! Has anyone got any thoughts?

Thank you so much x

It usually says to ignore the result after 5 mins or so.
To be sure, take a test first thing in the morning. When were you due on? Are you tracking your cycle and fertile days?

I was due on Tuesday, I've been tracking my cycles for the last year or so & they're usually 30/32 day. I am day 36 today! It's tough not to get excited about it though. My husband is popping out first thing to get one x thanks for your reply x

If you are pregnant, the hcg hormone is most present in your first pee of the day :) and don't bother with the expensive £20 tests - just a cheapy own brand will do the trick! As you're not testing early, you'll be fine with a cheap one. I used tesco own brand and found out about 3/4 days after my period was due. I have PCOS so no regular cycle at all!
Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you tomorrow morning :) xx

(I think the sentence " I'm 36 today " is in relation to Twiglet's cycle day, not her age... But I could be wrong Wink)

I stand corrected... Apologies!!

It is her birthday but she's 30, 36 was her cycle days. I think anyway!

I did my test in the evening and at first it looked negative however when I went back to it a while later there was the faintest of lines there. I was testing about 3/4 days before AF though! I'm now 26 weeks Smile

I didn't think you could get a false negative... It's testing for a hormone and if it's there, it's there...?
So yay! Congrats! I found out on my birthday too! Xx
