No sleep in early pregnancy

Hello I am 10 weeks pregnant and cannot sleep at night at all. I fall asleep quite easily but wake up at the slightest movement or noise made by my husband and then i cannot get back to sleep - at 4am i am tearing my hair out because i know i will be getting up with my other 2 small children any time! It wasnt like this with my first two pregnancies - i slept all the time - plus my dreams are weird too - flitting from one thing to another! Can anyone give me advice on how to sleep normally again??

ditto - took to sleeping with cotton wool in one ear to drown out noises...
I had insomnia til about 15 weeks now I'm 20 and I sleep ok, but badly when dp is away - currently 5 days per week
Afternoon naps save my hide...

Hot milky drinks helped a bit (before I got so sick I couldn't stomach them) but I remember the feeling of restless nights very well. I felt like I had butterflies a lot of the time, like I was on 'red alert'. Not much help I know, but sympathies to you x

Oh you poor thing, it was exactly the same for me with pregnancy #1 (I am currently pg with #2...). I really wish I had some words of wisdom for you. It drove me to distraction, and I didn't have 2 other children to look after. I'm afraid I banished dh to the spare room so he didn't wake me, I often slept with the radio on at a very low level (BBC World Service, just a comforting murmur in the background, was enough to stop my brain really clicking into gear at 4am, and often bored me to sleep...!). I also found a Bach's flower remedy (I think it was Olive?) which was supposed to help with chronic exhaustion due to sleeplessness. I also took a homeopathic remedy, Coffea, which is best taken once during the day and again in the early evening, which helped with that busy brain thing.
But if I'm honest, it didn't really improve until dd was born , I'm so sorry. Grabbing naps if and when you can (with 2 children?!) was also a great help... Good luck!

i haven't been through this myself but thought just popped into my head.. maybe one of those sound box things (waves, light rain noisies etc etc) might help??? might be worth a try.

and some lavender scent for your sheets, pillows?
