Pregnancy

Absolutely shattered!

Just need to moan really!
I'm 19 weeks pregnant and have had a pretty steady pregnancy (usual nausea, fatigue etc) however the past couple of weeks-I have had to go to the triage midwife for itchy skin and irregular bloods.
I've found out that I'm anaemic and am waiting for my bloods to come back to see if they have gotten worse since I have started taking Spatone (midwifes suggestion),
I can cope with all that but I work full time as a nurse in a busy ward on night/day rotation and I am beyond tired! I have woken up today and the thought of getting out my pjs seems like too much! I feel like my energy has just poured out my toes!
My family have been supportive but I starting to worry that I'm moaning ALL the time or that they think I am putting this supreme tiredness on!
Is anyone else in the same boat before I just burst into tears!

I'm almost 26 weeks & tired all the time. I've never gotten the energy boost people speak of! When I'm not at work I can nap all day & still sleep at night. This morning I did cry walking to get my train to work as just so tired & by 3:30 today was falling asleep at my desk. I'm counting down the days until Mat leave Grin & I've never had any issues with iron levels etc that my midwife has told me of

Is it legal for preganant women in UK to be working nightshirts?

I was also tired at that time, generally at around 18pm I was ready to shutt off the day.

I feel much much better later on, Im 26w now and feeling ore energetic than at 20w.

Hang on there, it might pass. Make sure you drink plenty and eat healthy.

Another shattered one here. Only 8 more days of work thank goodness. Am 34 weeks and never got the second trimester energy burst. Plus my pregnancy insomnia has kicked back in. I think I'll actually sleep better once the baby has arrived!!

Oh snap. I'm 36+2 with DC5, and suffering with terrible pregnancy insomnia, every blinking night. :(
You have my sympathies.

lilmisslibrarian I feel yer pain. I'm an icu nurse and it gets so busy at times. So tired! Finished nights other day and literally spent the day in jammies, getting up to eat, having a nap, getting to up to eat. Then back to bed.

plus it took absolutely ages for my feet to stop hurting. And my back is starting to hurt on shift. must remember to phone physio in morning

I too feel like I'm always moaning.
It'll all be worth it (is my mantra)

Enjoy your pj time

Thank god it's not just me! Feel like my family (even though they are brilliant) are thinking-God she's in her pjs AGAIN?
Hopefully waiting for the energy boost but then again I'm still waiting on the glow!Smile

I cried all the way to work this morning as I was so tired I didn't want to go in. (Luckily in the car with my husband driving) You have my sympathies, like you, I think everyone is getting fed up with my moaning!

You've got my sympathies. I've spent most of my pregnancy resisting smacking all the people who patronisingly keep saying "you'll get the energy boost at 12w / 20w / 24w etc.... I'm now at 39w and it still hasn't happened. Combined with insomnia and now chronic indigestion / heartburn I'm with worrisomeheart in reckoning I'll feel better once the baby arrives!! Just sleep now whenever you can, don't feel guilty for napping, it's the only way to survive.

I just got diagnosed with anemia too. I'm 27 weeks. The tiredness is something else - it's not normal exhaustion.
I'm taking the pills they prescribed and also trying to eat lots of iron rich food. It's hard though.

I've never been so tired in all my life! I seem to need a 10 hour sleep every night, not that my bladder would allow this Hmm
I'm less than 12 weeks, will have dating scan this week
