Hello All,

Struggling with middle babe for our daughter Willow - help!!
We love Rose (mil is a Rosie) but is it too common? We like Eve and Grace but again - typical filler names?

We'd love some suggestions!

Thank you xx

The thing about filler names is that they have become filler names because they sound pretty and go with a lot of first names Smile. I know a Willow Rose (a few weeks old) and it's a little too 'flowery' for me. It's nice that it has meaning for you though. Willow Eve doesn't sound quite right, and Willow Grace is pretty but sounds like a lot to live up to if you know what I mean? If DD isn't willowy or graceful, but is a short, stocky tomboy is might seem a bit odd!

I absolutely love Willow, it was in my top 3 names before we finally settled.
I would go for something that means something to you. My daughters middle name will be Agnes because my grandma was the most inspirational, loving person i have ever met. I want nothing more than to pass down her name, even if it is really old fashioned.

Willow is a gorgeous earthy name on its own, so to stear clear of making her sound 'hippyish' (not that that is a problem, it was just something my boyfriend pointed out) i would have a plainer middle name. Willow Eve is very pretty but could sounds like she lives in a forest with lots of animals. (although that does sound fun).

I think Willow Grace is gorgeous! I wouldn't want to suggest any names as i think that should be up to you as i don't know what names you have in your family that may mean alot to you! I am kinda jealous you have Willow as i do love that name haha!

I suppose it depends on your surname aswell- is it a long/short name?

I would be tempted to go for a one syllable middle name, something like Grace (perhaps not rose, too flowery for me), how about
Willow Joy
Willow Wren
Willow May
Willow Jane
Willow Kate

They may not be to your taste at all, but I quite like the sound of a long name and short name together! X

We have chosen Willow as our babies middle name as it's the tree for April on the celtic calender ... Our daughter will be Evie-Jae Willow :)
