Was just wondering how the girl who's waters broke at 18 weeks is doing?
Been thinking about her and her little boy a lot but not had chance to get on here recently so apologies if I've missed something !

I have been wondering too but cannot find the thread to see if she has been back.

Hoping both mum and baby are doing okay.

I guess i am naive in thinking that nobody could make something like that up!? I just hit my 19 week mark and was thinking about the fact her waters broke at 18 weeks and she now has a healthy little boy. I was using her story as inspiration as i can't believe how strong she was. I hope it wasn't a troll, that would be too sad!

Still reeling at this.

Oh my gosh how awful. I've thought about Nobbly every day since her last post in Nov (or early Dec?) and even had a few tears imagining the worst following her silence.

Also agree it would be too sad for someone to make such a story up. But at the same time upset to think something horrid has happened. She was so lovely. Lets just hope she's had no internet and been too busy looking after her little boy.

Mumsnet have suggested the post was fake unfortunately, and others have commented that the baby posted was not a prem 28 weeker.

That is disgusting. I had so much sympathy for this lady, i even worried myself when i was getting to 18 weeks thinking 'Oh i hope i don't have to go through what that poor lady did'.

It just takes the piss out of all the people that are going through such tragic situations with their babies and are having a stressful time during their pregnancies and this lady comes here and uses well wishing women to boost her ego?confidence?attention? i dunno what she did this for.....

I am so naive. I just don't get it

I never posted but followed the thread and thought about her a lot. I'm just amazed that someone could go to those lengths to deceive people.
I don't think that people who troll like this are necessarily mentally Ill but I think you must have serious psychological issues to do this.
I went through a long period as a teenager and young adult of telling some quite hard core lies. In my case, it was definitely about getting attention/sympathy. I feel really ashamed about it even all these years later even though I don't think I actually hurt anyone. I was seriously messed up at that time in my life and had a huge sense of worthlessness/self-loathing.
The awful thing about this thread is that so many people shared their own stories, you must feel really betrayed.

If you read the site stuff thread which is linked further up this thread you'll see that mnhq have apologised.
Unfortunately and sadly she posted at a time when the premature boards were being trolled a lot (Multiple Mama springs to mind) so I think HQ were on high alert.

MultipleMama was a troll? I missed that...why would anyone make up so much heartbreak???

Report
AbbeyRoadCrossing · 02/08/2015 08:55

Yeah she was. Looking back at her old posts, all taken together I guess it was obvious, but I fell for it at the time. I'd mainly been on the premature board though and not seen the rest of her story though. I think it was when she had the latest baby premature (I think she'd had 8 of them?) and then was pregnant again about a week later that it all started to unravel.

Sadly, Nobbly was genuine. MNHQ have admitted they made a mistake and have apologised. They also sent an e-mail to Nobbly to apologise but I don't know if she replied.

It's all on that site stuff thread.

I didn't see the original thread and I don't have a link to it but I think it might be a good idea if it was reinstated. Is that possible? That way people won't continue to believe she was a troll.
