Just fed up of being pregnant now. I feel like I'm going to stay pregnant forever! I've had braxton hicks every day for the past 10 days, I've had the odd spot of blood, yet. I'm still pregnant! I thought I'd of had the baby this week, but no!

My mums recommended castor oil but I've read of the side effects and don't much fancy it. But then again I don't want to be pregnant for much longer.

Just wanted to vent, I'm tired and grumpy and sick of being fat lol

Aw I was really pleased when I found out I was having a girl. I've always wanted a daughter. How long till you find out?

Haha, funnily enough my mum said the same about walking a lot and I try, but I'm knakkered! On Christmas day I slept literally all day, I had to be woken up for Christmas dinner and then I fell back asleep again. I don't think it helps I keep waking up every 2 hours for a tiny wee lol.

Think I'll go for a big walk today see if that starts things off. I'll need a nice bath afterwards cause walking always makes her kick extra hard. Thank you, I'm very excited to meet my baby :) x

My midwife recommended lots of orgasms and this produces the same hormones that trigger labour.

Looks like you'll be having a fun few days.

I feel your pain. What's your due date? I'm 4th jan so 39 wks tomorrow. Really fed up now. No signs of anything imminent. The latest I can go is 14th jan but the thought of another 18 days like this makes me want to cry! You can join us on the jan thread if you're not already on a thread. A lot of us feeling the same way!

You're due in 13 days which means you could be pregnant for another 4 weeks so you need to brace yourself for that! I was the same on my first, very impatient, well and the same now 4 weeks til no 3 is due but the difference is attitude.

On my first I drove myself nuts. Was obsessed with getting baby out and tried every trick in the book, pineapples, walking, reflexology etc. Made no plans after due date in case I'd be in labour and ended up going two weeks overdue. I was insane with waiting.

In retrospect, and ive told friends this and they've listened, you need to decide that you will be overdue and embrace it. Make plans to meet people for lunch, but box sets & magazines, get into a daily lazy routine eg sleep in, walk/shops, lunch, nap, tv etc. Msybe get a massage or get your hair done. Really just consciously change your frame of mind coz you could be waiting a while I'm afraid.

Ps it's not organs that trigger labour it's the semen which contains the same substance used to soften the cervix during induction (prostaglandin I think). It's the one thing I didn't try (was too huge!) but the one of all the old wives takes that actually has some truth in it.

Orgasms not organs!

Bless you! The last few weeks/days of pregnancy can be really tedious.

But baby will arrive once theyre ready - i wouldn't try doing things to kick start labour. Let nature take its course!

Baby will be here before you know it Smile Good luck with everything x

Semen triggers labour because of the prostaglandins in it but female orgasms also start labour. They cause your uterus to contract and this can kick start labour. (It worked for me with my fourth baby and trust me there was no semen around Blush)

I'd try to think of having four weeks left not two as a pp said! I went 12 days over with DD and am now 40+7 with my second, despite everyone telling me it's far less likely I'd go much over with DC2! Luckily I have assumed my induction date (1st Jan) is pretty much my due date so not feeling as blue as I did last time.

Come to think of it, we are advised not to have foot Spa for tired and achy feet in pregnancy due to the possibility of that triggering labour, and I seem to remember nipple stimulation can also start it.

So your gonna need a semen fest full of orgasms whilst dangling your feet in a in a foot spa!.... Or maybe just a pedicure?

I was desperate to have my girl on time - if not a tad early as she was due in early December and I really didn't want her to have a December birthday (my birthday is in December and is always overshadowed by Christmas).

I took raspberry leaf tea tablets from about 36 weeks, bounced and sat on the yoga ball for an hour every night and walked the dog for miles including some very steep hills - it worked and bubba arrived 7 days early :)

Not sure if it was any of these things that really worked as everyone had been saying for months that there was no way I'd go full term but I like to think it did help move things along!
