Pregnancy

Constantly ill

Hi all, 27 weeks preg and cannot shake a cold/flu virus. I've had it for nearly 4 weeks. Sore throat, chest, soooooo knackered, and cough. I am supposing that my immune system is depressed due to being pregnant. Anyone else having this problem? Any recommended remedies?
Thanks!

This was me around about the same time as you, I just seemed to catch one thing after another after another cold/flu wise.

I spoke to my midwife about it and my reason was because I was low in iron, with the iron to help absorb it I had a glass of orange juice every morning. With the combination of the both I felt much better. So it might be worth having your iron levels checked.

Hi, I've been ill like that for over a week now -normally recover quickly but just can't shift it.
I've been taking strepsils for my sore throat, DH making warm drinks with honey in them -especially like white hot chocolate with honey and spices added. If bunged up covonia and fishermen's friends do quite well.

How are you for eating? My throat's been quite sore and I've been living off porridge, trifle and brioche!

Do you think we can get better in time to enjoy Christmas?
