No period, lots of discharge, am I pregnant?

Hi all,

I came off the pill in September and had a period then a month later another period but then I've had more than 2 months of no period at all and lots of discharge. I've taken tests and they come back negative but to not have any period at all -I know people say it takes a while for your cycle to get back to normal but isn't this a bit strange?! Could I be pregnant?

LP x

Sadly it's really unlikely you're pregnant and getting negative tests. But it is a bit strange! When would your next period be due as per the October cycle?

Hi Mulderandskully,

Thanks for replying! It would have been on 22nd November x

When I was TTC I had two cycles that went a bit crazy - one stretched out to nearly 60 days, another (2 years later) around 50. In between all my cycles were very regular. I was obviously desperately hoping I was pregnant, but the tests kept coming back negative, and I had no symptoms whatsoever. My fertility doctor just said it's perfectly normal to have the odd anovulatory cycle (ie where you don't ovulate), which can delay the period for a while.

Of course there is the slight possibility that you're pregnant and the tests are giving false negatives, but this is quite unlikely at this stage.

Whatever happens, I wish you all the best in making a family Smile

I know it took my cycles nearly a year to regulate after I came off the pill (Cerazette - I didn't have periods whilst on it), but I have PCOS which could have affected it. False negatives are morely likely than false positives with pregnancy tests, but I'd get off to the docs if I were you and see what they say, it could be any number of things really. Good luck!

Thanks everyone, I don't "feel" pregnant (although I've never been pregnant so no idea what I'm on about!) Will give it another month and then if I reach 3 months of no period I will go and see someone!

Thanks xx
