POSITIVE RESULT!

Me and my husband have been TTC for 13 months and we've finally got a positive test result today!
Which is brilliant because during the time of us trying my bratty DSL has 'accdiently' fallen pregnant again and is due next week. I was really dreading seeing her at Christmas with her newborn.

I have to now wait till Monday to check in at the doctors to extra, extra confirm that I am, how do I cope with the urge to buy more pregnancy test?!

No idea how to fight the urge (as I done a test a week until my 12 scan Blush )
But congratulations !!!!!

Congratulations! However the Dr is unlikely to do another test to confirm, they just take your word for it! Home tests are as sensitive as the ones they have so there's no point them doing another.

I'm planning to do a second test next week despite getting my BFP this morning just because they came as a twin pack and I enjoyed POAS the first time Grin

Besides I was a touch (really not much) disappointed that this mornings 1-2 on the CB digi just wasn't a 2-3 so I want to see one of them now too Wink

Surely.a stick addiction isn't soooo bad if it doesn't go on too long Smile

I took another this time a clear blue digital, came up pregnant quickly again and said 3+ weeks.
I don't really understand how they work out one thing said I'm 4 weeks another said nearly 6.
Date of conception can only be 29th of Ocotber or the 11th but I had two negative results after two week and 3 week after the 11th.

3+ weeks on a clear blue is dated from conception, so is 5+ weeks in real terms.

Thanks GotToBeInItToWinIt every explanation I've seen only goes off the last period but I'd be able to work out easily the actual date.
Me and DH have had a busy 3 months so sex wasn't exactly regular.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone and good luck to everyone here that's pregnant too Smile

Hey, congrats Nona11! I got my BFP on Thursday morning and feel your anticipation! From what I gather (obsessively reading everything I could find!), they estimate your due date from the day first day of your last period, as mentioned above. Then a more accurate dd is given at your 12 week scan when they measure the little one.

I made a Drs appointment straight away, and was a little underwhelmed. She told me I was about 5 weeks and gave me a sample pot that I had to drop back in (I thought they'd do the test to confirm there and then ... How naive of me!).

Is anyone else finding the thought of keeping it under wraps for a couple more months incredibly frustrating?

Thanks UpNorth74 I unfortunately took a test on a Friday at 4 pm so I have to wait till Monday to see anyone!

I work with animals so I'm hoping that I'll be able to push for results quicker, I really need to know with work.

I'm definitely not looking forward to keeping it secret I've already had to play the "I'm sick and cant drink" card twice by the end of tonight!
I'm aiming to keep quite until Christmas, there's no way I can get away with not having a drink without it not being suspicious.
