Bi Cornate Uterus

Does anyone one this site also have a Bi Cornate Uterus?
Mine was discovered at my 12 week scan and I was informed mine is more "heart shaped" than "double horned" or has 2 chambers.
The medical advice I have had on this has been very conflicting. My Midwife seems to think that I will deliver earlier as there is less room, (I am now at 35 weeks!) and the Sonographer says that my Uterus should cause no problems whatsoever. I then speak to a Dr who said that I should be deemed a high risk pregnancy! I am very confused! My Midwife and her colleague admit that they have never had a patient with a BC Uterus, so my questions are not being answered.
Will I need a C section? Will I deliver early? Anyone have any experience? Thanks xx

kiscr,

I have put a message on the discomfort thread for you.
Don't worry. Having got to 35 weeks you are unlikely to have other problems. mears

your should only go with the advice of sonographer on this. having a bi-cornute uterus does not immediately necessitate an early delivery. many women have BC uteruses and are not even aware of this. it really all depends on how big the cavatures are. if the sonographer sees that there is ample room for the baby, you do not have to worry.

I have one but am 12 weeks and the shape has evened out. It's more difficult if you have chambers or the egg settles in the wrong place but like above poster says the monographer has the best view to tell you if severe enough to cause issues. Good luck. X

I have a bicornuate uterus- had 2 babies- first was 40+3 days emergency caesarian, second was 38+4 days elevive casearian.
my first son noone said anything, my second the sonographer? pointed it out-i actually had ds1 s pic with me and she showed me it on there too. it was quite heart shaped. i did have bleeding with both at 10 weeks, but no other complications that i am aware of.

I have this! I was never told I would have any problems at all. Had DD by ELCS (nothing to do with BCU) at 39 weeks. Am now 13weeks with DC2 and again no one is worried about anything.
