I had one at 39 weeks, which said DS was completely average in terms of size - he was 10lb 5.5 oz; had one with DD at 36 weeks which said she was completely off the charts - she was 8lb 4.5oz

I had one at 36 weeks and they said he was roughly, give or take a few oz's, 9lb then. He was born, after I was induced at 40+5, at 10lb.15.

I had one predicting 9.5lb - he was 11lb 3oz!

Easy birth though, we were only kept overnight as he was over 4.5kg so had to have blood tests to check for diabetes.

Mine predicted 7.5-8lb, she was only 6lb 12!

please don't pay any attention to scans, they are so so inaccurate. DS was supposed to be 9lbs but he was 11lbs. DD was supposed to be even bigger but she was just under 9lbs. my consultant himself told me there is at least a 15% margin of error.

I decided to have a section for DD as they thought she was going to be so big and for various reasons I didn't want to risk pushing out a 12-13lb baby. my consultant said he could send me for a super duper high tech scan on some amazing scanning machine but that it still wouldn't be accurate so there wasn't much point!

I was scanned at 32 weeks and told DS would be 4kg at term, he was born at 38+6 and was 3.88kg so felt pretty accurate

I had one at 34 or 36 weeks I think, didn't tell me a size, just said she wasn't going to be small!

She was 11 days late and only 6lb 15oz.

Growth scans can be rather inaccurate!

I had a scan at 34 weeks. According to the scan DS was already 8lb and I was told to expect a very big baby.

He was born at 42 weeks weighing 7lb 1oz Confused .

I had a scan at 34wks and 35wks as they were convinced he was going to be huge.
Waters broke at 36wks and was born at 36+5 weighing 7lb nowhere near as big as they thought he was.

I had growth scans all the way through, being told it would be an early baby and a small baby - as in a 6lber, possibly less. She arrived at 40+13 and was 7lbs 7.

Every time I was told 'small and early' I was also told 20% inaccuracy in weight estimates from scans. Which is quite huge really.

Mine was accurate he was 9lb 2oz and early ! The sonographer told me they are within +/- 20% , I had a lot of extra fluid which they said could be because he was big . I have a personalised growth chart this time so will see as they are predicting 9lb-11lb ...... So I will be definatly having an epidural !

At 34 weeks my DS was predicted to weigh 6lb 10 (following the growth chart this would have been about 9lb 9 at 40 weeks. He was born at 37+2 weighing 7lb 4oz.

Good luck with the birth of your first baby :)

Had a growth scan at 34 weeks ,they said baby no 2 was going to be really big and had lots or excess amniotic fluid so could have been gestational diabetes etc ... I was panicking ,getting worried about a very big potentially dangerous birth
In the end baby was 8lb and birth very straightforward and speedy
The fluids however when my waters broke was a different matter altogether! totally flooded the bed ,much more than baby number 1. Every time I had a contraction more would gush out
So turned out the size thing was just loads if fluid for no apparent reason
Sometimes it just happens like that ...

had a scan at 32 weeks and 36 weeks, can't remember the 32 week weight, but they were looking at about 3 and a half pounds estimated weight at the second growth scan, and the first wasn't much less than that. They induced me three days later and she was 4lb 7.

Had one at 34 weeks with DD and was told she was around 5lbs. She was 2 weeks late and weighed 7lb13oz.

I had one at 32 weeks and was told DD was about 4lbs...which was pretty much average, she arrived at 35+3 and weighed 6lb 13 which is more like 98th percentile so I don't think they are that accurate! She would have been huge if I'd made it to full term!!
