Hello!

Anybody else suffered or suffering from sciatica during pregnancy and what was the best solution for you?

I've had bouts of it on and off all my life, but now I'm 17 weeks, and suddenly struck down yesterday with it worse than ever - can't walk, sit, sleep or take anything that works argh! Taking myself to osteopath later today, but just wanted to hear of anyone else's experience?

I'm going to get a support band for the bump - hoping that will help...

Answers on a postcard please!

yes! So much sciatica- ive suffered for a few years now, but it's definitely gotten worse in pregnancy

Stretches have helped me, and not sitting down for too long at work (or standing up for that matter!)- I need to do them more regularly as they help when I do it, but then I think I'm cured and don't bother and it comes back!

There's some stretches on this site- little pics on the right hand side of the page, which are basically the ones ive been doing- www.spine-health.com/wellness/exercise/stretches-and-exercise-sciatic-pain-piriformis-syndrome

Obviously, be wary of lying on your back but it's not caused me any problems personally :)

I found swimming really helpful but had to do a weird hybrid stroke with breast stroke arms and front crawl legs! I hope you get some relief x
