Hi all! Recently discovered I am 6/7 weeks pregnant immediately following a miscarriage on 1st September, so cautiously optimistic at this stage but going to GP to have myself referred to the midwives later. I had a crap experience at Hinchinbrooke last time so thinking of going to Peterborough as their EPU was fantastic whwn I needed them. Has anyone here got experience of Peterborough midwives and the hospital ititself? ThanksSmile

Hi! I'm 23 weeks and planning to birth at PCH. I had an ectopic scare at 7 weeks and I also had a problem with suspected kidney infection (turned out to be back problems) and both times when in the maternity unit the midwives were lovely. It was quite busy both times and people were waiting around for appointments but the general atmosphere was really nice and when I've phoned the unit for advice they've been nothing but helpful and pleasant to me.

As far as birthing itself - I'll have to let you know in February!

Ahhh thank you so much for replying! I found them really helpful too with my miscarriage in September so think I'm going to just go for it. Hinchinbrooke were terrible so figure it's gotta be better than that!! Do you see the MW at your own surgery or a children's centre? And is it 10 weeks they roughly book in? Thanks again!

I had my booking in appointment at around 7 weeks with a midwife at my GP's surgery - I did inform them I was pregnant quite early though.

I had two blood tests in the course of the first 12 weeks and both were at a children's centre in South Peterborough - both times was a perfectly good experience :)

Oh wow quick turn around for appointments then! I am around 6/7 now so will hopefully see them in a few weeks. Thank you for your help, really appreciated! Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly!Smile
