Worried about going intopre-term labour/early induction

hello all. i am 32+6 currently. somehow the thought about preterm labour has been scaring me over the past couple of weeks. two of my friends were induced at 36 weeks recently...i really don't know WHY!
But i really don't want that to happen. my MIL will have a full episode to make if i don't make it till dec (due on 11dec so far).and dh is as scared as hell..other ILs have really the most inappropriate stuff to say to drive me insane already! (i mean who talks about miscarriages to a pregnant person? and who asks things like hey, is the baby moving? are you sure it is as much as should be? you have a very small bump! you need to eat eat eat! is everything normal? is the baby growing? wait are you sure?? nothing abnormal right??) grrrrrrrrr!!!!
although i just had my scan it all seems well, baby is head down, right weight etc. however the dr. said the head is fixing upon feeling it and no longer floating. what exactly could that mean?
any tips on delaying labour?? (sorry i know people are going over the term and here i am venting about this!) i really want a december baby :'(

I keep going into pre term labour unfortunately if it's going to happen it's going to happen it's one of those things the lucky thing for you will be you are at a good point where baby has a good chance I'm not quite as far on as you if you do go into labour early they would give you a steroid injection to help babies lungs all I am ordered to do is rest and that's a sit on my backside for the next couple of weeks and do absolutly sod all. Not much help but these babies take it out of our hands so to speak

I agree that if it's going to happen then there isn't an awful lot you can do about it. However, just because baby's head is fixed at this point doesn't signify anything really.

I am currently pregnant with dc5. We fully expect him/her to be early because of health issues I have. Knowing that means we can prepare.

DS's head was engaged from 32 weeks and I weny two weeks overdue and had to be induced.

chances of you going into pre-term labour are really really low so please don't let it stress you out. the baby will come when it comes no matter what you do so there is no point getting upset at the remote possibility of that being too early rather than most likely too late.

as for the comments you've been getting i'd actually tell them everything is fine as per scan and appointments and ask outright are they trying to worry you?! or get your DH to do it!
