I feel like I'm tempting fate/going completely bonkers... I'm 9 weeks and just bought a little checked-shirt-type all in one because my hormones went into overload and I "had" to have it! I felt a bit silly and I certainly won't buy anything else until after my scan... I hope...

I'm 13+4 and haven't bought anything yet, but I did go and get my Bounty pack on the basis that free things don't count. Not planning on buying anything for a while yet, probably not til after 20 week scan.

Ummm... I had three baby grows before we started TTC Blush.

I bought them for someone else then never gave them to her because they were too cute.

With DD1 I bought a teddy bear when I came out of the first scan because I was so overwhelmed and excited. She's 13 now and he still lives on her bed! Good luck OP.

Bought travel system (2nd hand) and car seat before 12wk scan - following 2 mc's last year I was determined that this one was going to stick, and decided that the best way to make it happen was by positive thinking... Must have been method to my madness as DS stuck it out, and was born 5 weeks ago Smile

Crownjewel, aww, that's lovely Smile

I'm glad I'm not the only one though!

Before we even tried...
It was a cute girly onesie! Lucky it's a girl.

I think its fine to buy things whenever you feel that you want to. With both of my DCs I have had everything organised by around about the 20 week mark, and many things organised well before then. If you lose your baby, the presence of a bit of baby equipment is not going to be the thing that makes you sad!

That's what I was thinking tbh; if I go for my scan and something is wrong, a little babygrow isn't going to make much difference.

Plus, thinking about it, BIL's fiancée has an attic full of baby stuff for the second child they're yet to have... So I could be worse!

We bought the travel system (I think that's what it's called? Pram and car seat job?) when I was about 13 weeks but we knew we weren't spending a lot on it and it was on a really good offer! And DH has 2 garages he uses for storage so if anything went wrong we had space to put it away. We were excited but didn't want to buy clothes etc as I knew we'd get loads as gifts. People thought we were mad but it worked out for us and we needed 2 isofix bases so we got those at about 20 weeks because they were on offer too.

I bought two pairs of maternity jeans yesterday - Im just 7 weeks. Told myself as it's technically for me, not the bean, it doesn't count and I definitely haven't jinxed it

With my first pregnancy I bought a girls and boys outfit and some unisex babygro's before the first scan - then found out i was having twins at the scan which turned out to be a boy and girl Grin . I bought everything pretty early with them.

With my singleton son, we left it quite late to buy anything - I was probably about 7 months. I hadn't known I was pregnant until 15 weeks and then bled up until 20 weeks so I didn't feel confident with the pregnancy until much later on.

I was 20 weeks before I allowed myself to think this time might be the one. We started sorting out the Nursery this weekend, (I am 30+6) and it has thrown me into a bit of a panic!!!

First time.round I only bought stuff between weeks 12 & 20 that I was in love with and would have been gutted if theyd sold out after 20 weeks.

This pregnancy I bought maternity wear at six weeks (got a pot from very very early on), and had some babygrows in by 12 weeks. Everything else was sorted and bought and unpacked by 32 weeks but tbh I did have most of it from dd.

I bought a gorgeous childrens book before Id even met DP because I knew I'd want it for any future children I had.

Mum also bought a Cath kidston cherry bib before I was ttc because they were limited edition.

Before we were TTC! I couldn't help it - mostly clothes and small items. I thought of it a spreading the costs and am glad we did now. I thought the overwhelming probablility was that we would one day be able to conceive a baby and I'm not superstitious. The only things I think it is important to hold off on are big items that you want the warrenty to last on or that you think a better model of might become available closer to birth. I'm 20 weeks now and have almost everything we will need for the first 3 months.

I bought a few items when we decided to TTC but now that I'm pregnant (5 and a half weeks) it feels way too early to buy anything, even gender neutral items..

I bought a baby hat after a successful 12 week scan. We had a MMC last year and I couldn't let myself be optimistic until after the 20 week scan.

Didn't really start buying anything else until about 25/30 weeks.

I don't see anything wrong with buying whatever you want as soon as you want to. I so happened to wait till after my 20 week scan to buy anything, but that was just one little outfit I couldn't resist. Didn't really start shopping for things till recently. That was more to do with DH though who just didn't want to have a house full of baby things so soon. He only entered Mothercare willingly for the first time yesterday and I am nearly 33 weeks!

Also, now I am having to buy things, I have realised how much I don't like some of the things which are available in the shops. I kind of wish I'd started a bit sooner now.

Also a friend of mine has a pram already and hasn't even started TTC yet!

I haven't bought anything yet at 6+5, but my friend was attempting to clear up her 4 month old daughter's nursery, and asked if I wanted any of the things she either didn't use or no longer needed as she wanted the space. So I now have a baby bath, a moses basket (minus mattress) and two carrier bags of unisex baby clothes sat in what will be the nursery. I'm not particularly superstitious, so I might end up buying something before my 12 week scan.

The day after my positive test. I went to gap and bought a tiny teddy bear and a mini newborn babygro. I put them in a drawer and every so often I would open the drawer, look st them, go "Aurgh! I'm having a baby!" And shut the drawer again. It was as though I needed to look at them for it to properly sink in that I was going to be a mother. It is one of my fondest memories of that time, those secret stomach churning peeps into that drawer!
In my defence I was 27 and got pregnant in the first month of trying so it was all rather a shock!
