Braxton hicks worse in second pregnancy? 36+5 weeks

Just as it states above...

Since Tuesday evening I'm having Braxton hicks. Have to breath through them as some take my breath away and some are also painful.
I was nesting on Tuesday afternoon and after taking a nice warm bath they started. All day on Wednesday I had them. They where at some point 10 min apart then for a couple hours I had none.
Even when I was holding DS (12 month old) I got them.

Baby is moving around but sometimes feels like she is pushing downwards as It gets very uncomfortable and hurts.

My lower back hurts already..

I didn't had them so intense with my first. (Or maybe I got so distraught from my gall bladder attacks I didn't notice the Braxton hicks being painful and very uncomfortable)

I'm fed up and tired of these Braxton hicks. I even feel sick to my stomach already

Sounds a bit labour-y to me... As you are not quite 37weeks I would ask to be seen by the midwife or call your day assessment unit and ask to come in so they can see.

I will try and contact my birth doctor (don't have a midwife- long story)

It is just that they are so irregular. Sometimes they can be 10 min apart in one hour and then 30-60 min apart..

I had this already when I was 33/34 weeks pregnant! But it went away after 24 hours.. And they weren't as painful as this time..

I live in the US so it is middle in the night and I don't want to wake up my 12 month old son to bring him to grandmas house so i can get checked out.. I will wait till the morning if not better I will go to maternity ward or call my birth doctor

I found they got worse with each pregnancy and started sooner too, with my ds3 id get them daily and they were regular and horribly painful, I went to labour ward at 33wks he did end up coming at 38wks after one week of slow labour.Sometimes it can continue like that till the end but everyone is different so do get checked if you feel you need to...i always did just incase x

Saw my doctor.
Baby is fine.
Unfortunately these are just Braxton hicks that are painful.
He checked my cervix. Still closed
Baby is engaged pretty much. So she can come anytime now.

I had this last night- lasted 2 hours but regular and painful! Think it's body just gearing up for labour but I'm having a section in 9 days so don't need any prep!

I'm 32 weeks in my 2nd pregnancy and the BH are so much worse. I have to breathe through them too! It's very annoying, as I don't even think they will make the eventual labour any quicker or easier. So they are pointless IMO!

Definitely worse in 2nd. Think your body learned from the first and is practising. Don't lift anything if you can avoid it, and move very carefully, bending down and standing quickly can bring them on. Good luck!!

Pack your hospital bag!

Was your first DC early?

Yes, I had a lot of painful ones from 37-40 weeks, and lots of other labour signs too - diarrhoea etc. Came on my due date in the end. It was very frustrating and every night I thought something was happening and then it wasn't.

First pregnancy I didn't have so many - one or two days of it I think.

Started to pack bags at 33 weeks.
As my birth Doctor said that this one might be quicker and coming before due date! Because between my first and this one will only be 13 month apart. And everything is still very soft down there Grin

Yesterday I finished DS bag (he will be staying at grandma's house)

Just have to double check baby's bag and mine.

This time I will deliver in a hospital only 7 min away from our house, so if I need something DH can go and crab it. With first one I was 1 1/2 hours away in a hospital and didn't pack anything for DH. I still feel sorry for him as he didn't want to risk going home and missing his first child's birth so he smelled pretty bad Grin

Definitely worse with the second pregnancy. I had what felt like labour every week from 34 weeks onwards. The pain would bring me to tears. Usually calmed down after a long bath, but sometimes went on for hours. Baby was finally born at 40+5

I couldnt feel them at all first pg. This time i can, especially if im doing too much, its like my own personal warning system. GP said this is totally normal and the more pregnancies you have, the more you feel them.

Had bh in 1st pg, this pg they were 100x worse, convicr a few times that this was it...

11 days late ShockConfused

All the bloody signs of labour too, loosing plug slowly, strong painful bh, loose poos blah blah blah.

Apparently I make very comfortable babies.
Labour was loads quicker though.

Good luck!

I went 12 days over with ds without so much as a twinge until the real thing.

This time i've been convinced about 10 times already.

Only reason I knew it was real and not another false start was because my waters broke Blush
