Maternity wear in Leeds?

Can anyone tell me where I can buy/try on maternity clothes in Leeds? I can't believe I've been able to find so little!

I need long legged jeans/trousers so needs to be somewhere with a "Tall" range - do Next or Top Shop have maternity stuff?

Also would like some real budget stuff like vest tops, does Primark have a well-hidden maternity section somewhere?

Don't have a car so I'd rather something in the city centre, but willing to trek out to White Rose or whatever if there really isn't anything closer. Possibly even a day trip to Meadowhall or somewhere for a decent sized Next maternity department - anyone know where there is one?

Sorry to say me and DH trialled round Leeds and found diddly squat when visiting my sister ( I now live in Dorset). I think only really H and M, New Look and Mamas/ Papas stick stuff in store (and I mean rest of country too!) I ended up getting alot of my clothes online

Thanks that's great, I went all over town today and found virtually nothing.

Sounds like it'd be worth trekking out to Crown Point then, there was nowhere at all with a large range in the city centre.

Trouble is I need to try things on because I don't know if I'm size 10 or 12, and don't know if I need long or extra long, or how long "Long" actually is in different shops. So if I bought online I'd have to pay upfront for four different pairs just to see what size I need, before returning them. At £30 - £40 per pair I really can't afford that!

I am so surprised there is so little in town.

Oh, I did find a really comfy pair of jeans in Mamas and Papas in the Trinity centre, I'll probably go back for those although they weren't cheap, they were so comfy.

I tried New Look and H&M today and neither had anything in store. Primark have two types of jeans but they are "skinny" style with only 1% elastane so although the waist might be ok I won't be able to bend my legs - never understood why people make skinnies with 1% elastane, and in a maternity range? I'm not skinny ffs, I'm pregnant!

The Mamas and Papas ones have I think 4% elastane which was great, obviously very much better quality. £35 which would make them the most expensive jeans I've ever bought, but I do have a £5 gift card so I think I'll go for it.

I got some in H&M Trinity at the weekend. Other stores are online only these days - try gap for longer lengths

One comfy pair of jeans will be a great investment. h&M do basic maternity leggings for £7.99 which I found lasted me under dresses, but not sure if come in longer lengths.

Nothing in store in Gap, I tried them. Will check out H&M in Trinity, thanks, I only tried the Briggate store.

I'll be able to wear normal leggings for quite a while I think, and I don't have a problem with sizing them so can buy maternity ones quite easily online when I need them. I just think I'll want something warmer sometimes in winter, and since I normally live in jeans I'll really miss them if I can't wear any at all until May. I'll shell out for the M&P ones and then maybe get some cheap on ebay to try to work out what sizes I need in other brands.

Next in meadowhall have stopped selling maternity in store I was really disappointed as I got plenty there last time round. Still in meadowhall Debenhams have a maternity red herring range and new look had some stuff as well as mothercare, didn't have time to do H & M, mamas and papas don't stock maternity in store anymore.
I can't believe the difference in just 4 years choice seems so limited in store, not everyone wants to shop on line. Just thought - try Dorothy Perkins they do maternity and have a tall range.
For anyone in the Rotherham area there is a mothercare outlet at Parkgate, I got feeding bras for five pounds each and one for a pound! They're actually really nice too!

H&M at Trinity has maternity on the top floor.

Primark only does maternity jeans but their cheap vests in large sizes will do you a fair while.

Mamas and papas at Trinity has a decent range but I've never seen anything I've liked.

Mothercare at Crown Point and either New Look there or at Trinity are a good shout.

If you need to try on without a large outlay, Next maternity is your best bet as you can have it delivered to store, try it on, and immediately return what you don't like.

Once you find your size you can hit eBay Grin
