Hi everyone. I'm 32 weeks and heard an irregular heartbeat at my midwife appointment. It seemed to drop a best every four or five but the speed was ok.
The midwife has referred me for a scan which I'm having next Tuesday. She didn't seem to be too worried- but of course I can't help but worry! Anyone else have something similar?
I did hear it after the me had spent quite a while prodding me to work out where the baby was as she thinks he's breach - so did wonder whether it was a distress thing? The heart looked fine at my 20 week and 28 week 3d scAns.
Thanks!

I had this show up on an ecg on me. Doctor seemed unconcerned. Don't know if this is relevant. I believe I was born with an irregular heartbeat.

During labour my daughter had an ectopic heartbeat. The midwives did not seem phased but said that she would need to be seen by a paediatrician before being discharged. The next day the paediatrician confirmed that her heartbeat had become normal. This was three years ago and thankfully she's had no problems since!

I had this with ds1!
He developed it at 37weeks & they wanted me monitored constantly (strapped, on the bed) during labour.

I had to be induced early because of a mix of that & reduced movements but because irregular heartbeats 'usually' fix themselves during natural birth (on the word of my mw/drs, not looked into it myself so apologies if it's not accurate) they did everything to avoid a c-section?

He's fine now, he had a team of people check him over just after Birth but if it wasn't for the epidural I had he would've been home the same day.

we only found out when I went in forr monitoring, very unnerving hearing your babies heartbeat not thumping away like normal so ((hugs)) & hope you stay away from google x
