Hi guys hoping for a little advice. I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago on Saturday evening I started to lose a brown discharge, I rushed straight to hospital who booked me in for a scan mid day on Monday. On the morning of the scan I woke to heavier bleeding and a large clot I was convinced it was all over. Although the scan showed that I am 5wks and not 6 like I thought, this put my mind at ease and have another scan on 13th but I am still bleeding although no more clots and no pain I'm still worrying but trying to stay positive. Has anyone else experienced this. This is my 1st pregnancy any advice greatfully received xx

I'm also in my first pregnancy (10 weeks) and have had lots of bleeding so far. Mainly just brown spotting when I wipe but I've had a couple of bigger red bleeds and passed a clot the size of my thumbnail. I've since had a scan and seen a healthy baby growing as it should, with no apparent cause of the bleeding. Midwives I've seen have all said it is fairly common in early pregnancy and to try not to worry, but it's really scary. Unfortunately all you can do is wait to see what the next scan says - I know the waiting is painful so I sympathise. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Always best to check if you're worried. Rather than wait I'd call your MW or visit your EPU. They wont mind and it'll save you 2wks of worrying. If it helps I had one MC with no symptoms, bleeding or pain followed by a pg where I bled on and off for 3 months and that resulted in a healthy baby who's now 7. Try not to worry but get checked again (and again and again untill you feel happier). Hope it works out ok x

Thanks I did have my 1st appointment with midwife today who said it could just be implantation bleeding and I have spoken to a few friends who also bled during pregnancy, it's just not knowing the outcome that's doing my head in. Also not knowing what a safe or unsafe amount of blood loss is.......never thought I would be so worried so early x

I too feel for you. As the PP said, if you want reassurance go to the early pregnancy assessment unit. I have had two pregnancies where I bled a lot, and have two healthy girls to show for it.

With regard to the amount of blood loss, I was told not to worry unless it was as heavy as a normal period. Easier said than done!

I have read so many contradicting posts I don't know what to think, I'm at my doctors tomorrow as my mw said I need to take a few weeks off work to rest so I am going to chat with him........I know everyone is different and it's probably never the same situation but I now know im not the only one going through this x

Hi guys today has confirmed an early miscarriage........I'm heartbroken but not completely shocked as I guessed it was the outcome. Made myself and my partner realise exactly how much we wanted this, I kind of feel I have already grieved as I have been expecting the worst but hoping against all hope for the best. We will be trying again and hopefully things will be different next time x
