spotting & non-increased CBD indicator - is there any hope?

Hi,

6 weeks today, started spotting last night, pink to reddish, only when I wipe. I was worried more as we have a DS and didn't spot at all with him. This morning did a CBD and have remained at 2-3 weeks (was 2-3 weeks when we tested 8 days ago and that was in the afternoon.)

I've read lots about clear blue being notoriously inaccurate, but together with the spotting and the fact the number of weeks increased as they 'should' with DS has me feeling pretty hopeless. I don't suppose anyone else has had similar?

Hopefully I can get my HCG levels tested properly next week and an early scan. Our heads are just in such a mess, we haven't had the easiest time with baby making and this I'm just so gutted this is very possibly over.

Any experiences - good or bad welcome, the waiting is horrible. Thanks

I don't have any experience of CBD tests but with ds2 (who is now a happy healthy 3 year old) I started spotting around 5 weeks, light brown/pinky coloured. This went on an off for several weeks with lots of trips to the early pregnancy unit for scans. I'm no expert but if it were a miscarriage I'd imagine the bleeding would get gradually heavier and you would have some pain - but like I said I'm not certain about that. Just wanted to offer a bit of reassurance. Spotting and light bleeding can be quite common in the early days so try not to worry too much if possible. Good luck, I hope it all works out well for you.

I had two bleeds, one at just over 8 weeks and one at 10. Im now 23 weeks and bub (touch wood) seems to be doing well!! Go to A&E they will offer to scan you and check your baby. Most hospitals have an EPU, mine does and they are lovely and you don't have to go in with the other mums to be! Its the best way to know if anything is wrong and put your mind at ease! Bleeding doesn't always have the worst outcome but its best to know either way and stop the second guessing. Sending you lots of good luck vibes xxx

Thanks so much for replying. I've had cramps since, followed by quite a lot of bright, red bleeding so not looking great. Our epu won't scan on weekends but am hopefully being referred Monday morning. The wait is just awful. I think with the cramps, big bleeds and the cbd combined it is over though I would of course love to be proved wrong.

Thanks again for your help and positive stories x

Thank you both. In case you see this just updating - it was sadly an ectopic pregnancy. Found out today and had surgery this eve. Feel in shock but very sad too. Thanks for being there when I needed it x
