Plus size maternity clothes in the UK

Hello!

I am new to these boards as I'm after some information. I am looking for plus maternity clothes. I am 9 weeks at the moment and will be visiting the UK to see my in-laws next month and I am hoping the UK is slightly better served for plus size maternity clothes than the Netherlands where I live.

I've seen that Red Herring maternity stuff in Debenhams goes up to size 20, which might just be ok. I have big boobs anyway and they've grown a cup size already!

I am mainly after a winter coat and a few basic tops and trousers.

Any tips, either actual shops or online?

You will struggle in store for average sized stuff never mind plus size. But: online simply yours/be, bon prix, next go up bigger than size 20. I also found Evans elasticated waists have taken me through until full term - linen in a size bigger - you may get these instore.

I'm a size 24 and I can't find anything except online. I'm just wearing elasticated waists from Bon Marche and New Look. Comfort trumped style this past summer!

Simply be have plus size maternity. They do have a couple of shops in uk but don't know if they have maternity in them. Can you order on line to a UK address ready for you?

Asos have been my saviour and George all online though. Couple of bits from Next and Jojo Maman Bebe but mainly tops. Bottom half is more plus size so trickier.

There is barely anything in the shops. George (Asda) you have to order online, their clothes are affordable and decent enough.

New Look have some in store but usually smaller sizes.

Some huge NEXT stores have a small selection in store.

I would recommend, if you can afford it, to order a selection and have them sent to where you are staying. If I was you I would order a variety of sizes and more than I planned on buying so I could return what I didn't want and know that I would still have some new clothes.

ps My two are 21 months and 5 weeks (and I am a size 18) so I have just been through this.

I also lived overseas for years so I know the clothes saga well!

Good luck, and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thanks ladies! I will have a look online. Most places deliver to the Netherlands, so that's good.

I was size 18/20 in last pregnancy and bought masses including a warm coat from h and m. Very reasonably priced too.

Check how long you have to return the items. If you order them to be delivered to your ILs/your place, you can often return them in store, which helps!

I'd also order a variety of sizes as I find that sizes are even less reliable when it comes to pregnancy clothes!
