Is Nestle Caro safe during pregnancy

Hi All,

Is Nestle Caro safe during pregnancy? I bought this bottle a few weeks back, did not know about the Nestle ban etc. Found out now. Wondering if I can finish this bottle. Please could anyone advise whether is it safe to drink during pregnancy.

Yes it is perfectly safe. But ethically many people don't choose Nestle products.

Thank you Jacksonville14, wasn't aware of the ban until I started researching Nestle Caro.

There is no ban. Some people prefer not to buy Nestle but that is simply a purchase preference (like I prefer not to buy Dove) - including cereals etc'.

I had to google that. Sounds revolting , but unless you boycott Nestle for ethical reasons there is no reason not to have it. Can't see a pregnancy safety issue at all.

Drunk the stuff all the time. The powdered kind that you make like instant coffee. Two completely normal kids(as far as I know). What's in it that's concerning you?

why on earth would it be unsafe? Some people choose to boycott Nestle products but not because the are unsafe in pregnancy

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams, I was drinking two coffee alternatives 'Whole earth Wake Up Instant coffee Alternative' and Nestle Caro Extra. When I googled the first one their website said not suitable for pregnant women but I couldn't find anything similar on Caro Extra. Since I've had a previous miscarriage was being cautious. However all these coffee alternatives contains chicory, is that okay in Pregnancy?

Read the advice on the Miscarriage Association website, the NHS and Tommys. Also the books "Miscarriage What Every Woman Should Know" and "Coming To Term". These are reliable and reassuring sources.

Unfortunately the Web is full of "advice" which stems from hearsay, grieving women clutching fit answers and, sadly, quacks peddling scare stories.
Even companies and organisations, scared of litigation, add needless warnings which can cause fear. For example I am a keen swimmer and a well known swimming organisation had that you couldn't swim when pregnant if you'd had a miscarriage. I queried who had told them this via feedback. I quickly got a reply that they had checked with a doctor and would be rewording it to "check with your Dr if you have had recurrent miscarriage" ... The advice before was scary but baseless.

It is actually very unlikely a woman cab 'cause' a loss by food, drink or behaviour unless she is doing things that would endanger her anyway (drugs, fighting etc).
