How different did you feel in your second pregnancy?

Hello

I'm 6 weeks pregnant with DC#2. I can't help but try to compare symptoms, though I can't remember quite when they all started.

I've had a bit of very mild nausea like before . I think i am less hungry.
My boobs seem sensitive but I don't think they are as tender as they were before. I also don't think they have changed, they got bigger very quickly before. However they are "different" boobs from before DS, since I breastfed for about 21 months and only stopped two months ago.

I have a lot of other things to think about this time too so not obsessing as much about being pregnant.

Just wondered, what things do other people find different in second pregnancies?

In all of mine, I was very very tired in the first trimester.

Other than that, no idea grin

First baby I noticed every twinge.

Second baby, I was too damn busy with a toddler to notice much!

Third baby, I have no recollection of anything except the difficulties of managing two small children while being heavily pregnant. Couldn't describe a single twinge to you!

Sorry!

cowbiscuits - ditto, 6w tomorrow with dc2.
Do not feel pregnant. I have done a ludicrous number of tests. All positive. But I seem to have far less symptoms than with DC1. My boobs feel no different. I do not feel nauseous (yet!) I am slightly hungrier than usual and have the odd burst of heart burn, which really reminds me of pregnancy no.1 when it was constant.
I have the odd cramp or pang down below, but keep expecting to wake up from this pregnancy dream!

First pregnancy was an absolute breeze; no sickness, no discomfort, was able to work up to due date.

This pregnancy has been tough going; extreme nausea and sickness until 15wks, recurrent utis and thrush, piles, painful pelvis and hips and complete exhaustion meaning I had to finish work at 35wks.

First pregnancy - textbook, only symptoms was a teeny bit of MS (although admittedly, this did last up to actually having her, but it was over and done with in 5 minutes), sore boobs.

This time - I'm shattered. Thankfully DD still has a good long nap in the afternoon so I usually fall asleep with her. No hurty boobs. Bit of nausea, no sickness. Twinges by the bloody minute. I can not wait until the first scan just to settle my mind a bit. Booking in appt tomorrow so ball rolling at least!

First pregnancy I had no symptoms at all and was looking out for them all. This time I started to show super early, extreme hunger, sooooooo tired I want to cry, the most massive boobs ever, and have felt kicks many weeks sooner.
DD1 is 6 now though so its lovely having her running about this time. She is really excited and can help me pick things up off the floor!

Was sicker second time round, but still 'just' the all-day nausea, no vomiting.

No boob symptoms whatsoever. Wore normal pre-preg bras till about 17 weeks when I was a bit bigger all over. I was still bf when I got pregnant and continued till about 20 weeks when I think the milk dried up, DD got grumpy anyway and we stopped.

Boyfriend says I am tireder but I think that's a combo of toddler and job!

Showed a little earlier but not much (17 weeks as opposed to 19 or so).

Managed to work a month later, probably as am part time now.

MUCH less anxious, went to scans on my own merrily etc (well, not the 12w one). Felt very secure after 1st trimester.

Time mostly went quicker, though 1st trimester did still drag and the sickness was horrendous at work and playing with DD. Dragging again now - under 4 weeks to go!

Hoping for the patented "quicker, easier" 2nd birth too!! We'll see!! And early rather than late might be nice, but maybe that's a bit too greedy! grin

second time round felt awful spent more time on sick than at work. It was easier last time was v sick but more able to work.
think tiredness worst second time round. pregnancy fatigue plus a very active toddler not a good combo x

The prospect of a quicker second labour bothers me a little - DD was 90mins!

The first few months symptoms were all the same, but with a massive dollop of guilt at being a back seat parent while dh stepped in and did most of the child entertaining and housework.

Middle portion of the pregnancy dragged but felt as fine as with dd.

This last part has been awful. Major pelvic pain, tired more, have had to stop work at 32 weeks (managed to 38 last time) and just generally not coping well with the demands of a nearly three year old. Im looking forward to never being pregnant again!
