I am 9 weeks with my first baby and was just wondering when your belly started to show with your first pregnancies?

Thanks in advance!

20+ weeks - probably around 23 - 24 I think really before I needed to wear clothes where people couldn't fail to notice.

I could feel hard bits if I prodded around before then, but no one would have noticed had I not told them at 18 weeks. Even my mum didn't notice and was surprised when I told her at 17 weeks.

I started showing at 12 weeks, am now nearly 17 and it's obvious I'm pregnant, can only fit in maternity clothes. I've only put on 2pounds though and am only 5 ft tall so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it!

I'm 16 weeks and I have just realised I can't get any of my 'work' trousers done up for school tomorrow (I'm a teacher)! I don't think I look very pregnant though, more like I've put on a few pounds around my tummy, back and bottom!

I put on weight all over my tummy, back, bum and thighs from about 10 weeks Confused but didn't look noticeably pregnant until around 16 weeks (just like I'd piled on several pounds until that point in time! Smile)

At around 14 weeks realised I couldn't fit into my work clothes! Also not really showing a bump as such -more just a bit fat.

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and look bloated. People who know I am pregnant say I am showing but nobody else (I don't think) has noticed. This is DC2.

With DC1, I was exactly the same but didn't actually start to show a definite bump until I was about 16 weeks.

Bugger, too soon! Was a size 4 pre pregnant so I didn't have anywhere to hide her! 29 weeks now and I've actually got a relatively small bump, I just did a lot of growing fast.

14 weeks, I went from size 8-10 hotpants straight into maternity work trousers. I look bloated if anything just yet.

I'm only 5ft & lost half a stone with ms so I haven't really put much on & its all frontal. My friend never really looked preg.....she just went all round. It really depends on height/weight I think & if your weight naturally fluctuates. On me, my podge is obvious to friends x

With my first I was around 20 weeks when I started to show but could easily hide it until around 24 weeks. This time it was around 14 weeks. Now at 18 weeks it's near impossible to hide.

I looked like I put on a few pounds (despite actually losing weight) at around 12 weeks and couldn't wear my work trousers from 14 weeks. "bump" visible from 16 weeks and looking lovely and bumpy at 22 weeks now!

Pasadenadreaming · 01/09/2014 11:13

I thought it was noticeable at about 17 weeks but was able to hide it from work until 21 weeks or so

Hmmm I have a sway back and my uterus is tilted forward, I don't know if I was Showing " but people started asking me if I had gained weight at about 12 -14 weeks, my husband noticed when i was about 10 weeks, he said he thought i might be pregnant , he was right.

I was bloated for quite a while, then that died down and eventually a bump started to appear. Didn't look properly pregnant until about 21/22 weeks. It's my first.

I am 8 weeks and 3 days and my belly started sticking out at 6 weeks! I suffer from IBS though so it was mainly that playing up extra. But I am small AND short. I have already had to swap to maternity jeans and leggings.

Report
WorkingBling · 01/09/2014 15:54

I think it's more body changes at first. I wore maternity jeans from about 10 weeks with first but all other clothes fitted until about 20 weeks. I was about a lot further along until I felt confident that anyone seeing me would know I was pregnant and not just a bit fat!

Dc2 on way. Can't wear any casual clothes at 11 weeks although work stuff still ok. Don't look obviously pregnant but do look fat.

SeaSaltMill · 01/09/2014 15:56

I'm coming up to 16 weeks and in some clothes I just look a bit chubby around the belly but in others I definitely look pregnant. first baby.

Bloating and having to eat constantly or feel sick has made me 6lbs heavier at 10 weeks, all around the tummy it seems! It ddoes come and go though, some days there's nothing there. This is dc2 and I can't wait to actually get a bump because this looking chubby thing is not good! My boobs are gigantic too, I start a new term teaching tomorrow and I am really worried about finding things to wear..

Dc1 was about 20 weeks I think, although I remember the bloating then too.
