Nub Theory Anyone?

Just had my 12 week scan this morning (but I'm almost 14wks), itching to find out the gender. I know it's a bit early at the min, however the Dr I saw says he's stopped telling the gender at 20 wks :( We were thinking of getting a private scan anyway, so this has confirmed we will but wondering if anyone fancies having a go at the nub theory in the meantime? As I'm rubbish at it...

I honestly don't mind either way, though I thought it was possibly a girl going by the angle of the nub and the rounded forehead.

Patience is a virtue I don't have Smile

Sorry, but there is absolutely nothing on that scan pic that can determine gender (I'm a sonographer)

Yes One, of courseSmile
Just found out that my friend had the same doc and she said the radiographer at the 20wk scan told her the gender. I think he just meant that he doesn't.

ColdTea, do you mean you can't see any of the indicators or that you don't hold any weight behind the various 'theories'? I realise it's not a medically proven indication, it's just a bit of curious fun while I'm fascinated by my scan pics Smile

Your scan pic doesnt show a nub. Not too sure about how accurate the theory is, its not something I've ever studied. Am sure there must be something in it but the reason gender scans are left until a few weeks later is that it's just not clear enough at 12 weeks to give any sort of confident answer.

Yes its fine for a bit of fun but I do worry that it gets taken too seriously sometimes, I believe there is a website (can't remember the name) with a forum specifically for posting scan pics for people to give their opinion of gender.
I always worry about the potential for early gender prediction to be used for the wrong reasons...
