Chorizo sausage cooked on a pizza - ok?

I'm 37 weeks today and am wondering if I've just made a food mistake.... I just chopped some ready to eat chorizo sausage on to a pizza, before cooking, and cooked it on pizza for about 20 mins at 200 degrees...that will be safe won't it? I'm sure I did it earlier in pregnancy but now looking at NHS advice I'm not 100% sure it is ok. Would be absolutely gutted to have got this far and messed up now....

Why on earth do you think that that would be a problem? I'm honestly a bit baffled Confused

If it's cooked it should be fine Smile

Just still remain a bit confused by deli meats rules and how hot they have to be cooked etc. when I was first pregnant they were ok and the advice has constantly changed... I'm just looking forward to being able to eat without fear again! X

The advice has actually changed since I was pregnant and I only gave birth in January. Last year it said something like, some people think there's a risk but we don't advise against eating deli meats. Now it says you have to freeze it for 4 days or cook it? Madness. Anyway, you cooked it so job done.

Teddy Deli meats is an AMERICAN rule based on their guidance/supermarket hygiene rules.

This is the most comprehensive UK guide. Read it fully; just because a food is listed doesn't mean there are rules. It means it's a frequently asked about food.

Thats it does NOT say you have to freeze deli meats. It says if you wish to eat raw fish or uncooked ham (like parma ham) freeze and defrost it OR cook it.

I suffer from anxiety and trust me have read the guidelines again and again. And asked my consultant (I was high risk for miscarriage).

Yes, putting things like this on pizza is actually specifically mentioned as a behaviour which is fine.

I don't mean to sound mean, really and truly I don't. But there seem to be so many more women working themselves into a frenzy of guilt over perfectly safe behaviours than there were when I had DD1, and she's only five.

I thought that was what I said? Other than I didn't mention fish. But sorry if you think I'm posting misinformation, that wasn't my intention.

Is this maybe a difference of opinion over the rather vague term of deli meat? In the US it often includes cooked ham by the slice and things. But others just mean uncooked meats like parma ham?
